Garritan Personal Orchestra 5 (Download Card)

We started with the data on the supplied dongle being corrupt which provided hours of frustration. We even swapped out the system hard drive in our machine for an SSD (thank you Macrium Reflect Free) but it still didn't work. Eventually we put a ticket in with Garritan and they quickly issued a code to download the library from their site. Since then it has been a joy to use and the quality of the samples are amazing. This is excellent value for money and highly recommended. Just watch out for corrupted thumb drives.

In all fairness, I am not a Musician. One who can play/read/write actual notes. It is to those who know music, I admire. For some years now, I've been making use of Sony Acid Music. It has its limitations. As do I. But I have since learned a thing or two on creating/arranging what (to me) sound close enough to music.For a long time I've sought to make something more orchestral. As much as I like the sounds of rock, metal, oldies. Classical is where it all began, and in turn, if done right, can mix...Having gotten this item, I looked forward to making vital use of it. Sadly, I learned that I guess it's not compatible with my current program. So, in turn, I am very, very curious... If ANYONE could help with an honest answer... What platform do I need to use for this in order to create music tracks?????Thank you.

I also use a Yamaha PSR 500 keyboard and have for many years, but the sounds are better than my keyboard. The voices are much better than my keyboard as well. You do have to have an editing software program to edit your songs. I use Soundforge Acid Music and have for years so I prefer to stick this it to edit my songs. I was hoping that Garritan would let you paste your MIDI file into more than one instrument at a time, but they don't- or at least I haven't figured out how to do that yet. But I just love the realistic sounds- way better than most keyboards!

For another $100, you can snag an EastWest library with so much more depth and realness to it. I would not purchase this again.
