Heater Repair kit Blend Door Single Zone Climate Control fits: 1999-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Sturdy product does the job in my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited 4.7. However, there was a little metal thing sticking off of the end that gets hung up on the housing in the Jeep and keeps the doors from functioning. One whole winter without heat or defrost and an entire coolant flush later, I cut the offending metal piece off and it works great now. Not sure why it was there in the first place.

Since buying my 2004 and learning the bugs as with most any vehicle have been waiting upon the day the blend doors would malfunction.These are a really good quality set of doors.Nice precision made shaft with welded aluminum doors covered with a durable quality rubber foam material better quality than the stock plastic foam used by most manufacturers of American Vehicles.I used the Dremel 1550 T2 Versa Tip to make the cuts in the A/C housing and to remove the divisional wall between the doors.I did have to use a little force to get the door assembly to fit into it's proper position, just make sure the end of the shaft is seated against the inner pivot pin before pushing fairly hard to seat the shaft.Once that is accomplished the doors will seat properly.I also use the tip of the Dremel Versa Tip to enlarge the hole the shaft end passes through to connect to the blend door motor.I highly suggest this enlargement of the hole be done so as to not restrict the movement of the blend door assembly.Once the doors were in place reinstalled the blend door motor tested fro proper operation removed the motor and replaced the portion of the outer wall and used the Dremel Versa Tip to melt the plastic housing sealing it up.

The hardest part was cutting the housing to install this. However the product worked great and I have heat again, very happy. The supplied foil tape worked great too, very sticky.I did have to make the hole slightly bigger in my jeep's housing where main shaft comes thru the housing to connect to the motor. Not a big deal, I used a step bit by hand to shave a little off.

Lots of reviews and advice on YouTube on how to install this. Works other than losing passenger temp control, but small sacrifice for the cost and ease of installing. Heat and a/c are working great again.
