I ordered the (navy like) Sapphire and Blue, going for light and dark shadings for a pine needle basket I am making. In the pictures, they show the deep contrast between the two. What I received were two nearly identical shades of light blue. At first I thought they sent Two Blues and no Sapphire, but could see the very verrrry slight difference in coloring. The color label also showed different numbers by one digit. The colors were so slight, I made labels for the inside of the rolls to tell them apart. If you're going for a navy blue type blue, Sapphire is not it, and is not offered here. In the picture of the start of my pine needle basket, the Sapphire is what you see. I wanted a deep blue for this row. Disappointed. Two stars removed for the Sapphire not being dark as pictured on the listing.The thread IS very pretty, with a nice sheen, and it's easy to work with. It does have a tendency to knot up, but the knots are easy to pull out. One star removed for this.

This being my first leather work ever, I did not know that waxed thread will lighten as you work with it and the wax is flexed. The listing was for a blackish green which was perfect for my dark green leather. However as seen in the photos...it lightened quite a bit when worked. I am still pleased with the product and my end results. Just wanted to give beginners a heads up of what to expect.

I liked it so much I have bought multiple rolls of this thread. Works great for up to a 4' denim rug. Will try to review again when I make a bigger one. Soft finish and material is easy to work.

Durable and LOTS of it. It's a braided thread, so you might have re-wax the tip if you're going to bead with it to keep the tip from fraying on you. The cord is about a millimetre and a half thick (1 mm is approximately 3/64", so around 4/64"). You CAN separate threads if you pull them one by one by slipping them out along the length slowly, but it takes patience to do it. Cut the length you think you'll need of the whole cord (plus some extra--trust me, take extra), then pull the thinner thread you'll need from that. It'll be easier.Good, useful cording for all kinds of leather work and beading crafting.

Purchased both white and pink waxed thread for leather project using 9 oz (3.9 mm) leather. Stitching holes were made using 3/32 in punch. Waxed thread was stitched using saddlers harness needle (3/0). Found both colored threads to be even in color with no apparent irregularities. The thread was waxed, and although this can be quite subjective by the user and application, the wax to me was moderate. Definitely apparent to touch. The thread passed through the leather smoothly without any clumping or jamming. The thread remained intact throughout the sewing process without any strand separation/splitting. To test it’s strength, it did not break when stretched. The thread is 1 mm, but not as dense as other comparably sized waxed thread I have used. Knotting was not a problem, and it remained intact after cutting the ends. All-in-all, the thread worked very well, and I am satisfied with the outcome. I recommend this waxed leather thread, especially for large projects. It is economical and quality is not sacrificed.

Update 06/08/21I have bought to many to remember now.... Just picked up two black and another purple. The thread is always consistent and never has the crappy nots you find in the cheap rolls. I can not say enough good things about this companies quality control. Buy it and you will not be disappointed.... God Bless, Richard W.Original Review:Paid one dollar more for this and it was worth every penny. Very strong, Great quality & Feel, Medium to Heavy Wax through the whole roll with NO KNOTS. I bought a cheaper brand and it had a knot half way through. I laughed at other reviews thinking they were making it up but nope. You get what you pay for and this is it. All my small rolls are this and I never should have strayed. Buy this without any hesitation and you will always get a quality product.... I Have :)UPDATE 11/13/2019...... Sense I have purchased again the quality has stayed top notch. Still comes from the factory in a plastic envelope then inside is plastic shrink wrapped. To compare rolls this roll is 4.25 inches long or 108mm cardboard end to cardboard end. The wax line itself is 3.5 inches long or 89mm from top to bottom of the roll. across the roll it measures 2 1/8th inches or 54mm. This is great waxed cord and is the only one I will ever buy at this point.

Was expecting "round" poly, waxed leather sewing thread. Possibly my mistake for not reading the product description close enough. Gave a 4, rather than 5, rating because I was expecting round thread.But, that said, this is a quality product, very strong, and it has a little stretch...which is important for me because I use it for binding bamboo flutes and the stretch insures that the binding will stay tight over time. Just need to be more careful when wrapping the flutes to keep the thread flat, because thread twist would be unsightly otherwise...which is why round thread is easier to use as a binding material. Also, I like the finish...not too glossy, not too to flat...just right...actually has the look of a natural fiber thread like cotton or linen, but much stronger, and with a little stretch capability.
