HD CS IR-Cut 20mm Pitch CS Lens Mount Aperture Double Filter Switcher for CCTV Camera

I bought the one with 20 mm spacing which matches the Pi camera UC-439 board mounting holes. The one mechanical problem is the four outboard mounting holes/standoffs are not needed for mounting and interfere, so I needed to use a hack saw to eliminate them. See the photo. The latching solenoid worked straight-away driven off the Pi GPIO ports and circuit comprising a level shifter and H bridge, which I built. Upon arrival one can test the solenoid with a 5 volt power supply by simply briefly touching the black and red wires. Optically the cut filter appeared to be doing its job since the image colors appeared to be quite normal when the filter is in.

5V, easily driven by H-bridge; can be disassembled with additional filter or foil glued on either side; used to make inexpensive shutters compared to very expensive and bulky off-the-shelf spectroscopy devices.
