This was ok. I am naturally blonde and have a lot of gold in my hair. The colour of this made me a dark ash blonde which was ok, but the purple was just a tinge, you couldn't really see it much, its very subtle. This will not work on dark hair at all, it must be very light. I gave it a go, it lasts for several months.

The fumes might knock you out
This is the strongest, stinkiest hair colour I've ever used! The colour is not true though. I had my hair bleached out to a very light shade of blond - even lighter than the lightest picture on the side of the box. The result was not a "smokey lavender" at all. I applied 2 boxes as I have long hair and had more than enough product to completely saturate my head, so much that it was nearly dripping. The colour still came out almost patchy in spots: silvery and a darker purple shade that didn't really represent "smokey lavender" at all. Even coppery near the roots. The fade out was fast on this PERMANENT shade. I waited a full week before the first wash, used a sulfate free shampoo and still had purple running out of my hair.

Bleach First
You must bleach your hair first. I have dark blonde hair. I did not bleach first as I was afraid to. So now my hair is brown with a purple tint. Not the result I was expecting for sure.

Beautiful color!
I bleached my hair first then applied the color for about 10 minutes. The dye looked a little dark when applied which is why I didn't leave it on longer. I absolutely love the result!! Update- the lavender is still going strong 2 weeks later. Washing your hair often and lots of Sun exposure will fade the color faster. I'm buying more to keep my hair this color. I've been dying my hair over 10 years and this is one of my favorites ever!! I really don't understand all the negative reviews unless those people did not properly apply the product.

The answer is clarifying shampoo!
Ladies! I have tried this in blue and lavender. The blue just wasn't for me. So, many months later I tried lavender. My hair was dyed to a blond the color of the inside of a banana, then I dyed it silver and wore it that way for a while, but I still hated the blue tint. So, I tried this. I've learned if a crazy color dye it too much for me afterwards, wash it a few times with clarifying shampoo and it'll tone down the intensity. I'm very pleased with how this came out. However, I wanted a hint of lavender so I only left it in for ten minutes instead of twenty, and I'm glad I did. So, always do a color test and see what you think first. Too intense? Shorten the time and wash with clarifying shampoo after. VoilĂ !

Not pastel
Where do I even start? The colour was no where near pastel and I am deeply dissatisfied that I wasted my money trying to get the colour on the box. Yes, I bleached my hair before it, but it came out abnormally dark. After trying the blue in the same brand, I quit. The lavender and blue are NOT pastels.
