Tasbihs started to be used at the end of 16th century. It is Prophet Mohammad's Sunnah to count tasbih 3x33 times and you say 33 times SubhanAllah, 33 times Alhamdulillah, 33 times Allahu Akbar as requested by Prophet Mohammad (SAW). Roll the beads between the forefinger and the thumb. It decreases your stress level and helps you stay busy with your hands. Stress gets out from the teeth and fingertips that's why people eat or needs something on their hands
