Sportster Air Filter that is affordable & looks Great
The original Harley Davidson Air Filter looks more like a School Bell or a Boxing Ring Bell and it covers up a lot of that magnificent V-Twin motor. I wanted an air filter with a clear window to see the carburetor and not blocking the view of the motor. Equivalent air filters were 5 or 6 hundred…. or more. This air filter does it all and it’s an incredible value ! It doesn’t cover the motor, you can see the butterfly on the carburetor opening and closing and it looks darn good. It’s a “no brainer” BARGAIN priced under $40. Below are the original air cleaner compared to the new one. Make your own gaskets for the mounts and “lock-tite” every nut & bolt on the air filter. This looks great and you get it at a bargain price

Sweet air cleaner!
Not understanding all the negative reviews, butI installed this air cleaner in less than 30 minutes with no instructions and zero problems! It looks and performs perfectly! And for less than $40?!?! C'mon man!

Terrible fitment
I put the air cleaner on, mind you This is my third Harley-Davidson. I've put on many air cleaners and air intakes. This one was absolutely terrible. The fitment wasn't good, I had to constantly rearrange things in the back, nothing wanted to fit right. When I was lightly tightening the bolts up front, one of the housing columns snapped in half. (See pics). Terrible quality, I wouldn't recommend driving on the road with this, if you can get it on.

Durability
It sounds good and gives my bike more air, but I have a 2002 iron 883 and it's carburated so it likes to pop inside the intake. It ended up popping out the clear cover after 10 minutes of riding, so I would recommend reinforcing it with tape, superglue or some bolts before going out with it. I just used a coaster and some ducktape and it's holding good.It was the perfect fit for my 2002 iron 883 iron hugger, it looks good and it sounds good.Would recommend if you reinforce the clear cover. But for the price I feel like it shouldn't have any issue

Mounting screw holes are wrong
The design is great and it was easy to install. You have to remember to take off a protective film on the acrylic that has all the ugly machining marks. Problem is that mounting holes under the filter aren’t deep or wide enough. Round head doesn’t fit in hole and hex, which comes with it, is too tall so the filter can’t sit flush.

Inexpensive but totally functional
It fit like a glove, looks Rad & she breaths well! I had to jet up a bit to eliminate the lean fart/pop. She's running awesome now

Modifications necessary for carbs
This intake looks pretty good and is fairly easy to install instructions would be nice but it's fairly straightforward. You do have to grind the backside of it to clear the carburetor as other reviewers have stated. It only took me a few minutes with a bench grinder to get the clearance needed. You can't go wrong for the price I figured why not and I'm not disappointed

Nice cleaner but hard to install
This product is well made but poorly designed for fitment. Spacers behind cover are too short, you'll have to add washers. The air cleaner housing does not clear the top of the carb, you'll have to grind the cleaner housing to clear it. You have to completely disassemble the cleaner to attach to carb. Oh, and order a new gasket before installing. Use your old bolts with the through hole bit they're odd banjo bolts that come with it. Only reason its getting any stars is that it looks great and adds power. Worth the thirty bucks and time constraint.
