Great for cracked earth bases, but have some matte varnish handy.
This stuff is pretty great for miniature bases. It cracks as well as if not better than Mordant Earth (ME). Maybe you need to build it up a little higher to get large cracks, but the cost of ME vs this stuff makes it a no brainer.One big caveat: it dries very glossy, especially compared to ME's matte finish. A quick spray or brush of matte varnish fixes that right up. I will never buy ME again.

I used it wrong
You need to put it on really thick for it to work right but the instructions tell me how many millimeters to make it and that meant nothing to me. After the fact, I watched somebody else do it and they put it on with like a spatula so pretty thick. Even though I put it on way too thin it still crackle. It’s just very fine and you can’t see it very well.
