The only book on muscles and bony points you'll need
I'm a physiotherapy student and I spent a long time deciding which book to get to help me learn the muscles, their proximal and distal attachments, and how to palpate them. After reading some many positive reviews I plumped for this book and I'm so glad I did. These are the main reasons this book is well worth the money:1. Comes with a very high quality 3 hour long dvd with demonstrations on how to palpate the different muscles.2. The fact it's spiral bound means it sits open and makes life much easier than a paperback.3. The layout makes it quick and easy to get to the information you need.4. Fantastic detail laid out in a simple way, with fantastic drawings and several different perspectives to make it clear what muscle connects where.I can see this book being useful throughout my degree and my career too, I can't recommend it enough,

A fascinating guide
Yes, a fascinating and very detailed guide to the body. Brim full of diagrams and explanations, I am constantly dipping in and out of it. If you want to know how the structure of the body works in detail this is the book for you. What's more the book is built to be used, not a flimsy coffee table book or paperback. Definitely a book for students but also a book for those who want to know how we work. What's more, there if even a brilliant three hour dvd shewing you how to locate your various bits and pieces.

It’s good but not quite what I expected
This book acts effectively as a generalised visual shortcut to trigger points (literally X marks the spot) but lacks any theoretical information. It’s small A5 size. I expected it to be slimmer version but same dimensions as the excellent trail guide to body - with lots of explanations and clarity. Its simplistic, but will be adequate as a quick reference.

A must for all hands on therapists
This book was recommended to me by a colleague and has been a great purchase The book itself has a really useful spiral binding to make opening the book and page review easy. The illustrations are really detailed but still clear. The accompanying DVD is broken down into small segments which are clear and informative with a touch of humour. Andrew really has an excellent way of explaining this topic for hands on therapists.

Awesome book
I am doing an ITEC diploma in massage and have been struggling to remember all the muscles. I purchased this as has been told it was good and must admit it is more than good it's awesome. The pictures and write up are both clear and easy to follow, I also purchased the flashcards (vol 2) and use them in conjunction with each other. Now feel much more confident and hopefully will do well in my exam, I think our tutor should recommend this book at the start of the course but at least I have it now ready for when I am able to go on an do my sports massage course. I would say to anyone who is doing a hands on course which involves the muscles get this book, you won't be disappointed. Remember when watching the DVD it's in American which means that the names of the muscles are slightly different but the DVD is so interesting that it doesn't take much to forget that.

This is probably all I need
I am a student studying with Olive Collins at Body Mechanics in Ware, Hertfordshire. I need to learn about anatomy and this book is my reference manual. Following Olive's lessons I am able to look up muscles, bones whatever and know that the Trail Guide to the Body will give me beautiful diagrams and clear explanations. I feel confident that this book has all that I need to complete my studies.

The Best Text Book So Far!
I am studying Occupational Therapy and have found this book to be the best resource for learning anatomy, it explains how to palpate the bones and muscles, what they do, when you use them, the word origins, and has great illustrations! I waited a few weeks before I bought it and now I wish I'd have had it from the start of term, honestly, I couldn't be more pleased with this book!
