Volume 4 is where things really start getting good! This one focuses almost soley around Hakkai and his past. We find out the horrific events that happened to him and how he turned from human to youkai. These memories are brought back by the (totally creepy) Chin Yisou, who knows all about Hakkai's past crimes and who targets the Ikkou one by one in order to torment Hakkai. This is a really exciting volume as we see the four companions really suffer a lot! (Hee hee!) The artwork is great and the plot starts showing its hidden undertones and the characters' dark pasts. But, ultimately, it ends on a positive note and will make you want to read volume 5 ASAP.
