Love my EllieGrid!!
I have been using my EllieGrid for about one week now and I could not be happier. It’s such a good idea! I purchased this cause I was tired of the old way of individual sorting out each of my pills into a weekly organizer. I purchased this product because I could track and share my medication compliance and it syncs with my iPhone. The unit is easy to use and compact. The Bluetooth is easy to set up and the transfer from the pillbox to the iPhone is seamless. A little more expensive than your typical plastic organizer, but it is worth the additional smart features. Good product, good design, and easy to use! This is the easiest pill box that I have ever used. Very easy and fast to setup. Very easy to organize your pills. It includes a free Bluetooth enabled app that sends the data to your iPhone automatically. Not sure what other reviewers say that it is not for the elderly/aging?

Great idea, poorly executed
I’ve had this device for three days. I was so excited when it arrived and couldn’t believe it was going to be the solution I’ve been waiting for. I had no trouble paying for something that was going to help me take medication, especially since it was portable! And compared to a lot of other products, cheap.I travel a lot for work and had a lot of trouble remembering to take my medication. I take a lot of medication in the morning and evening and thought this would be the perfect device to help me remember. The first day it worked perfectly! It reminded me and sent me cute notifications as well as lighting up and ringing every time. I opened the box and the lights lit up accordingly. I thought this would be just the thing I needed! The second day I brought it with me to work on location. Big mistake. A consistent red light lit up and I couldn’t find any resources to help. I contacted customer service who reassured me it wasn’t the device but how I was using it. I was very off put by the demeaning accusations of someone who couldn’t understand why the device wasn’t working. They also mentioned that this seemed to be a consistent problem with their product! I was told and did everything that was recommended to no avail. Finally when I got home it started to work again after attempting to reset it all day. It began to light up, remind me and send notifications again. I thought it must have been a fluke and I’d give it another chance. The third day, it didn’t remind me at all. Nor when I remembered to finally take my medication no lights lit up as they had before. I had to check on the app which medication was which since a lot of mine look the same. I checked the battery life and it was at full power. Again, I contacted customer service in which they offered to send a replacement. At this point I had had enough. I didn’t want to fight with a device that was supposed to be helpful. I really wanted this to work but it’s not worth fighting for and the massive headache it gave me.

Perfect for me! Great customer service!
So let me first start off on how my journey started and I found the perfect pill container for not only myself but my husband as well! My husband is looking at gastric surgery and I have RA. With this we were filling out our pill containers once a week for a couple times a day. When he started to look at the surgery, afterwards he will need to take pills up to 5 times a day. There really isn't anything else I have found that is able to accommodate the number of pills and the multiple times a day. Sorting them out each week was taking away precious time where we could be doing something else. So the search started...I found several options out there, but the ones that really had all the bells and whistles were hundreds if not thousands of dollars and some had subscription fees to boot! Then I found Ellie. I was at first a little hesitant to pull the plug as it appears on the surface to be another pill container with an app. Then I watched the videos around the background and how it came to be. I was hooked. I then decided ok, I will buy one for my husband. If I like it I will buy one for me too. When it arrived I knew I found what I needed/wanted. I ordered mine the next day.So the pictures really don't do as much justice as you can't "feel" the quality of the device to get a good appreciation. It comes with a nice little carrying case, but if you don't want to use it, I can say that I am able to add it in my purse and it won't open. Now there are different size compartments and if it will work will depend on your pill sizes. For example, I can only store 14 of my gummy vitamins in one compartment, but I was able to store an entire bottle (100 pills) of my sublingual B12 tablets. Most of my medicines are small enough to fit at least 20 or more pills into the section. I changed my calcium tablets to the petite size so they aren't the horse pill ones and was able to fit a lot more in there. For the other ones I was able to store close to a month of medicine in the container. If you take more frequently than once a day, you may have to add more pills, but the process is quite simple. Now lets get to the app. If you have more than one pill box in your house, you will see 2 of them. The one that is closest to your phone is on top. When you setup your pills the process is quite simple. You enter the pill name (some are shown as you start entering! I was surprised to find ones such as my Xeljanz showing), select how many times a day you take it, how many pills you take during the dose, enter the start date you will start using the pills from the container, and how many you have in the container. As you take your pills it will count down from how many you entered and notify you if the count is getting low so you can add more to it. The cute part is the trivia on the app. After you have marked you took your dose you get the answer. For example, I was asked to day what animal has more lives than a cat... Answer: Frogs. They croak every night. Sure it is silly, but it is amusing to see and helps motivate me to take the next dose. I love that when I am notified by the alarm of my dose time that each compartment indicated on the lid shows how many pills I am supposed to take. For example, at that dose I may only take pills from three compartments, one compartment I take two pills from of and the other two compartments I take 1 pill each. When I close it the lights go across the pill box indicating I took my meds and the pill count goes down in the app. There are subscription services to allow you to send reports to caregivers or if you are buying this for a child that may have issues remembering to take medicines. The alerts are nice. First week is free last time I checked and then depending on the service, you could be looking aroud $8/month. Not bad if it is critical to make sure your loved one took their medicines. I don't need that service now, but if I do in the future it is nice to know it is available. Now the customer service is fantastic. I asked questions and got quick replies. I can't recommend them enough. There are future firmware updates in the pipeline such as being able to rename your pillbox which will help when you have more than one in your house. Over all, take the plunge and reward yourself with less stress and easier way to manage your medicines.
