Amazing emergency radio. (Thus far)
My review will be updated as time goes on.Great sound quality, but can be a bit loud and hard to reach that perfect low level volume since it’s also the knob that turns the radio on. Haven’t yet tested its output charge, but it charged quite quickly when plugged in. The hand crank, solar array, reading light, and emergency battery slots are a great addition to the radio. Though the reading light may be a bit bright for some. When tuned into a radio station, it has a green light that shows up, so that’s quite helpful!

Papaw Joe's Review
I purchased the FosPower Emergency weather Radio, Model A1 for one of my sons-in-law for Father's Day to use on his boat and at home. He was greatly appreciative and per the rating in emergency Radios on Amazon, it is listed as #1 for Emergency weather Radios.

Perfect for most situations
This was a really great find, however I wish the solar and hand crank charge were a bit more efficent in the long run. The solar is much slower- which is to be expected but the hand crank makes you work for it! Otherwise it's really unique and good enough for emergencies and even leisure activities like gardening or having on hand for walks if you're a lady. Being able to listen to a good quality speaker matters in emergency situations for clear understanding and this has it! I would reccomend, especially for being alerted during hard weather times.

Hurricane tested, family approved
Months after I bought this, my area was hit by a hurricane, and we were out of power for about four days. Can confirm that the hand-crank power works, and so do the AM, FM, and (most importantly for my situation) the weather band radio. Flashlight is nice and bright. This radio kept us well informed about storm warnings and evacuation orders, and also kept us entertained through those post-storm days without power. Pro-tip though: before the power goes out, charge up the lithium-ion battery (prevent your hand from getting tired with all the cranking, plus, hand crank is not enough power to recharge other electronics, but LI battery might be). Also, make an emergency plan long before you need it, and if your area is evacuated, get out early.

Great emergency radio for great price. Don't hesitate to get it!
Great device! Small and compact so it fits wherever you need it to be. Definitely good for emergencies. I have used during heavy storms when power is out. Great to be able to know what's going on when no access to other communication due to power outages. Love the light on it as well as other features it provides and solar powered when needed but also has charger. Can't beat the quality for price.

Reliable and Powerful!
The FosPower Emergency Weather Radio is a must-have. It’s compact, easy to use, and has multiple power options (solar, crank, battery). The flashlight is bright, the radio gets clear weather alerts, and the USB port kept my phone charged during an outage. Perfect for emergencies or camping!

Decent purchase
Got this a few days ago because the weather radio I had wasn't displaying the channels, the time or which band it was on. We are in the midst of tornado watch when I placed the order, so I knew the old one wasn't going to be much help but I knew I needed a replacement for the next time stormy weather came thru. There was a delay in receiving the product, apparently because of weather conditions, so instead of next day delivery, it arrived 2 days later. Once I received it, I tried to read the user's manual, which is in very small print! I had to use a magnifying glass to find out where the power on/off switch was. The instructions say "power" but this is to indicate whether you are using AA bateries or the LI-Ion battery to power the unit. You have to turn the Volume knob from off. The first time to use it, you do have to do the hand cranking for about a minute to get it started up. I tried the different bands---AM, FM, WB and they all came in fine. Better with the antenna up, especially for the WB (weather band). Once I finished trying out the different functions, I decided I would try using the USB cable to charge it up. It's a very short cable, so it needs to rest near your electric power source. The end of the cable that I had plugged into the unit, was not fully inserted, so it didn't charge as quickly as I had anticipated. I had to adjust it again and it took another day to fully charge. After all that, I decided to register the product and to finish up discovering things like how to turn on the flashlight, how to read the power levels and if it was tuning a channel. The main con I had on this unit, is that the display for the station channels doesn't have a backlight or doesn't light up once the unit is turned on.It seems to function as wlell as it can for it's price, It's light weight, the color is bright, so you can find it easily. I hadn't tried the SOS alarm, but watching the videos on Amazon, seems to make it sound fairly loud if you want to use the SOS alarm feature.I started to give it 4 stars, but downgraded it as I was writing my review because of the idiosyncrasies.I thought this was made in the US, but the company is a US company, but I guess the parts come from China.
