It's not a solid piece of wood, but rather 3 pieces sandwiched together and turned on a lathe. The ends where the glue joints meet are a little messy and chowdered, so I'm not looking forward to seeing what it looks like on the inside when I get it cut down. I brought this to use as internal bracing for an enclosure, so the look is irrelevant to me, however these are all things to note if you're using this as stock for any decorative pieces.Also the order stood in limbo for about 3 weeks until it finally shipped, so order ahead of time.

Dowels are overall good quality but we cut them and find pockets where there are holes in the wood. We can fix these with a little wood filler

This was supposed to be a 2 1/2” diameter dowel but comes in 1/8” smaller at 2 3/8”.

This was shipped is a large box and wrapped really well. The wood is super smooth. I did no extra sanding except where I cut the wood. The wood is dense but soft enough to work with. Not sure what type of wood it is but it stains/dyes really well. Will be buying in the future!
