Perhaps one of the ones you purchased is an eau de toilette and not an eau de parfum, the toilette's have a lighter more diffused fragrance and do not last as long, many people prefer this to the heavier scent, but I like the stronger one myself. They are both by Elie Saab. I hope this helps.
