Excellent
I'm not usually one for portable type drives of any sort, but needed to burn Blu-ray on one of my Home Office iMacs (Didn't want to mess around disconnecting one of the other iMac externals). Took a chance on this and brilliant on the 4k iMac I connected to. Shows itself as an Hitachi/LG.. Solid build. Just one USB3 Plug (Great). Quiet. Instantly recognised by the MacPerfect Burns and Verifications on many Discs from all the burning software I have, including Right Click BD Folders MacOS Burn direct to disc.Solid burns at 4x HP BD Discs and 2x Sony BD-RE Rewritable.Bear in mind, those that are not sure about what burning speeds mean, that 2x speed Blu-ray Disc = 58x speed CD.Beware cheap Externals are often only BD Read/Play and not Burners. This one is the full Monty.

You get what you pay for..........
Bought this as a last ditch effort to find an External CD Burner which records Text when recording original tunes. By that, I mean creating a blank disc and recording my own material and all Title Track names, Duration, Album and Artist names etc; What is known in the Industry as 'Red Book' standard; which is the same as Cd's sold in shops and stores. After buying and returning 2 different products (both in the £20-£35 range), that could not record in 'Red Book' standard, I am pleased to report that this product does just that. Using professional software Sony CD Architect, and good branded discs, it works a treat, with my Windows 10 Laptop.I also had to download Blu-ray software, Leawo Blu-ray Player before watching BD Discs, which performs excellently. (Leawo also have free recording software too.)Very pleased to find this product; the only caveat being, the slightly 'flimsy' construction. So, handle it with kid-gloves.NB. This is my first day of ownership, which is why I rushed to test it out.

Doesn't play, every write fails
It's hard to find something positive to say about this. Someone told me to avoid these slim drives and I can see why I shouldn't have doubted them.I tried multiple different writable media types, different, different speeds - all fail to write with 'media error' less than 10Mb into the writing process.Playback, even with Leawo player, fails to read every bluray I tried it on, even after leaving for several minutes.Have also tried different USB3.2 3.1 3.0 slots to see if power draw or anything else is a factor - still no progress.

Good.
Fantastic piece of kit. Personally I like the building quality and the look of the drive. It’s nice a slim easy to fit in a small bag. Make sure you read the instructions before hand to understand exactly how it works. I made a mistake thinking it wasn’t working right but after reading the instructions I found I wasn’t using it right. Comes with a nice hard back carry case for transport. The only down side I’ve found with this drive is rip speeds. I’ve had much faster rip speeds from older drives. To rip Blu-ray disks it takes around an hour due to the slow speeds. Other than that it’s a really good drive if you don’t mind waiting around a little longer to rip DVDs and Blu-Rays

Surprisingly good value
I upgraded my PC to a real gaming PC however I was disappointed that the new machine was not fitted with CD/DVD reader/writer.I bought this device and to my amazement it worked strait out of the box. I realised another hidden advantage later when I moved my new super computer from the side of my desk to behind my desk to reduce the noise from the cooling fans. Since the reader/writer is external I could position it on my desk within easy reach when needed. I have used it to produce backup cd's and DVD's so I can vouch for its usability. Not tried it on Blue Ray but I have no reason to doubt that it will work.

A Bit Flimsy
It is a bit flimsy, the case is a bit bowed around the DVD tray, underneath, as if some of the componants don't fit properly. Seems to work ok but I feel it will last long being carried around. I have it connected to a static PC tower, so not necessarily an issue for me but if you are chucking it into a laptop bag day after day, I would be a bit worried
