Better than Pretty Litter
I had been using pretty litter for about 8 years. It kept getting more and more expensive and I noticed I have to do a full replacement every 2 weeks or less. I have 3 cats. 2 are younger. The oldest is 19 with diabetes and pees all the time. We burn throught pretty litter.I bought this after reading reviews. It’s only been a week but I am impressed. There is not pools of urine in the box anymore. I do remove solid waste daily and stir the litter as the directions state. It doesn’t smell and I can see that the urine fully evaporates. I’m impressed. The only one flaw is the dust. I do see it more than pretty litter when stirring. Which I just hold my breath. Pretty litter is dustless. Tracking wise they are the same. Only a very little tracks. Will be purchasing again and have it on subscribe and save. So far so good!

The Best Cat Litter I've Used
This stuff works great. It's low maintenance, it eliminates any odors and dries out quickly so cleaning the litter box is a breeze. I have two cats that share the same box and the litter lasts about 20 days.

Used Properly, It's Very Good
I have used this product for 30 days now, and totally agree with the other reviewer who said that the negative reviews for Litter Pearls Micro Crystals were because of "user error".I've tried many cat litters and have used Feline Pine original (non-clumping) for at least 14 years. It's an excellent product that eliminates urine odors completely, and is safe for poop to be flushed down the toilet. But recently, my young girl kitty started to develop bleeding ear sores and blisters, and after ruling out food allergies, etc., we traced it to the Feline Pine--perhaps it was a reaction to whatever oils remain in the product after kiln-drying, but we just don't know. While researching new litter, I wanted something of a benign, non-chemical/non-scented nature. And I also remembered that my two cats seemed to like Feline Pine best when it was almost ready to be changed (i.e., soft sawdust and not pine nugets) so I decided to try this product--which is the exact texture of beach sand. Both cats immediately preferred it: during the switchover, I kept one box of Feline Pine and one of the Micro Crystals, and neither cat touched the Feline Pine for the two week "test period". And, after one month of use, my cat's ear sores have mostly healed.Following product directions, I use 2" of Micro Crystals in our two litter boxes: the boxes are 12x18" and 15x22". I've found that cats seem to like two different-sized boxes, for whatever kitty reason! As a note, the girl weighs 9 lbs., the boy weighs 10 lbs., which may give a better idea of our usage rate--which is one 7-lb. bag per month. With every poop, I scoop and flush. One of my must-haves in terms of litter performance is that whatever clings to the feces has to be flushable. The Litter Pearls package and website says that the few bits of silica coating the feces are not a problem for septic systems, and I've had no issues. Regarding usage, you absolutely MUST sift, swirl and "mash" the urine clumps in the silica to break them up and redistribute them into the remaining litter, otherwise you get hard lumps and clumps that cling to the sides and bottom of the box--this is what might make it appear that the litter is "used up". It takes a little longer to mash and sift the urine clumps than it did with the Feline Pine, and while this is slightly annoying, it seems a reasonable tradeoff so that my cat does not have ear blisters. There is a slight urine odor as soon as the cats pee, and right after I mash/sift, but that goes away completely after a few minutes--there is no urine odor at any other time. As others have mentioned, the litter starts out as blue and white silica sand granules, and over time, as it desiccates the urine, it turns into a green and white color, which I suppose is an indicator of when it's absorbed as much urine as it can. Regarding tracking, I keep our two litter boxes in a bathtub we don't use, and we only get a slight dusting of silica sand on the edge of the tub that I easily sweep back into a litter box. I've seen very small amounts of sand in the bathroom and elsewhere, but as another reviewer said, it's far less painful to step on sand in the middle of the night, than onto nuggets of hard clay or Feline Pine.I do have two issues with this product. First, when changing the litter and also when I mash/sift the urine clumps, the litter does give off a very noticeable silica dust, enough that it makes it uncomfortable to breathe. When doing the mashing/sifting, I literally have to hold my breath--and it takes about 4-5 "breath holds" to complete the job. I have some surgical masks that I think I'll start using, because it really is a bit overwhelming to me. The second issue I have is price. As I said, one 7-pound bag will last 30 days for my two cats. At $22 per bag, that's .73 cents per day--expensive. But since my cat's ears are better, I'll stick with this for now. The real test will be the summer months, when it's hot--and I'll see how well the urine odor is controlled under those circumstances.

Really wanted to love this litter, but......
I am not new to using crystal silica gel litter, so I know there are certain things you need to do to maintain the box to get the most out the litter, like raking / stirring the litter several times a day and keeping the litter box out of humid areas of the house such as the bathroom. i did all these things and still the litter didn't stand up to what it advertises. Going to list pros and cons to explain : Pros:* almost dust free( there is a little when u first pour into the box) *micro crystals don't hurt my senior cat's paws like the regular sized crystals do and if you step on a stray crystal barefoot it doesn't send u to the moon in pain like the bigger crystals do.* great odor control until the crystals are full* great absorption, there was no urine pooling on the bottom of the pan like the pet safe crystals* surprisingly low trackingNow the Cons:'* Claims to last a month up to 40 days for 1 cat, NOT! I have been using the litter for 10 days and its ready to be replaced already! The entire bag has been used!* I accidentally ordered the micro fresh scented, instead of unscented, I kept it because the scent was actually very delicate and fresh smelling, not overly toxic perfume smelling like other litters, until..... One of the indicators that the litter was ready to be replaced is the scent gets 100xs stronger and slaps u right in the face when enter your house, its gross! My cat would no longer get in the box the scent was so strong!* claims the litter stays dry but this only lasted like 2 days, even with all the mixing i did the litter appeared to be wet and clumpy* Cost is wayyyy to high for the longevity of this litter! $25 plus tax and shipping for it to only last 10 days is ridiculous!!!!! Looks like I'm going shopping again. I was really hoping for better results, way to much to spend on something that doesn't perform as it says it will. My pockets aren't that deep for something that is literally thrown in the trash!

Great Litter
Once you start using this litter there is no going back. My cat will not use anything else now. It's great at absorbing odors and very easy to clean. There is not as much tracking with this litter as there is with other brands. Highly recommend.

Very nice but far too expensive
I’ve noticed that there are different brands that are a lot less expensive. Will need to change.

Amazing product! Practically no odor, even with 2 cats.
I used to use the clumping clay litter, it was smelly right after it was used just once. The litter pearls are light, they are super absorbent and trap the smell so well. We can't tell where the litter boxes are anymore :)So glad I switched!

No smell! Low tracking!
So I've now used clay, pellet, pine, large round crystals, newspaper, tofu...you name it, I've tried it. I've owned cats for 40 years and so far, it has only been a month, but this is fantastic! Low tracking, no odor. My teenager is in charge of cat litter and keeping the area clean...which, doesn't happen without reminders and when things start to smell....but I haven't had to worry with this at all. The area stays clean, there is no smell and he because it is so easy to sift...he actually told me this is the best stuff. If a teenager thinks it's good, it must be good! Now, if anything changes, I'll review again, but I'm absolutely amazed by having no cat litter smell at all in the bathroom.....i forget it's there so this is perfect for small places or if you only have a space that's shared for litter.
