my laptop has a Type-C port and no DP so i use this to play my rift s on my laptop works great.

This adapter works perfectly with Pimax headsets! I have tested it out so far with a Pimax 5K XR, and will be testing it out shortly with a 8K Plus! I have tested out 3 other adapters prior to this one, and each has ended in disappointment...This adapter is the one recommended by Pimax themselves. They recommend CableCreation specifically, so if you are here, and reading this and have a Pimax headset, look no further! Does not matter if you get the ABS or aluminum one, it does not get hot with use, it's a fantastic thunderbolt to DisplayPort adapter!In Pimax's own words; "If you can run a 5K XR, you can run a 8KX from your laptop DisplayPort out." So this adapter should work for the high and mighty 8KX with it's demanding bandwidth requirements. Not the 8KX DMAS, as that is specifically marked as not compatible with laptops, but the 8KX KDMAS!A fantastic find!

Works well with my Macbook 16" M3 pro and thinkpad L13 with 11th gen intel processor. Getting 4k 240hz output on both when connected via type c thunderbolt ports (both laptops have type c ports as thunderbolt). Works well on Linux and MacOS.

Just works. I am using this with an Asus Zephyrus G15 (2020 model), which has a USB-C with alt-DP port (no thunderbolt). Works at 1080p@144Hz on Windows and Linux. Don't have a higher resolution or refresh rate monitor to test it with.Depending on how your laptop is made, and how the DP connections are routed you may need to explicitly enable your dGPU in Linux for it to work. If your DP is routed though your Nvidia card instead of the iGPU then it won't work unless you go into Nvidia settings and set it to performance mode (dedicated GPU only). If you have an AMD GPU or just an iGPU you probably don't need to do anything else, just plug it in.
