Good quality fake snake!
I bought the snake to be a decoy on my balcony to deter the squirrels away from my plants. I was having a real problem with them digging in my soil and destroying the flowers on my blooming plants. They were an absolute menace in early spring digging up my bulbs and throwing dirt all over my patio. I had tried making a hot sauce pepper spray and I had also tried coffee grounds, both worked to a point but had to be maintenance a lot anytime it rained or the garden got watered. This seems to be working pretty well. As long as we keep moving the snake around every couple days or so the squirrels stay off the balcony. The actual snake itself is heavier than I expected, it feels like an actual snake! As the other reviews have said, the head stays curled but the rest of the body can be posed as you want. Since I'm just using the snake as a decoy against squirrels and not a prank against people I'm not too worried about the fact that the head is in a locked position. The snake and it's coloring seems to be holding up well despite being in the sun for long periods of time day in and day out. It doesn't seem to be overly affected by the heat, it's not melting or becoming disfigured in any way it also seems to be surviving the rain!

Very realistic. Perfect for pranks
I used this in the field and other places at work. Realistic enough for quick scares. I tied a piece of fishing line to it so the people I tricked set the trap on themselves.

Large and sturdy
It is quite realistic looking unless it is turned over- the bottom of the snake is white. Maybe that is what it is supposed to be, but our Grandson yelled "it's a fake" when he opened the package (it was turned over) before he opened it...otherwise it would have fooled him (we surrounded it with leaves and grass. If he doesn't end up playing with it we will use it to scare away the critters that get after our plants.

Faded, but fun
After a few years they are spotted and faded and lack their original realistic feel and never scared off any critters of course. I do enjoy having them in the back yard around the flowers though, makes for a good scenery.

Does not scare birds.
I had an idea that just maybe this might scare birds away from my porch. I tore down the birds nest and placed this in it place. The next day, I had another birds nest on top of it. So that didn't work. I am going to try an owl next. But it makes for a good toy for my nephew.

It's a rubber snake
It's a rubber snake. What more is there to say? The only way I can review this rubber snake is to tell what I use if for.My reason for having the rubber snake is to put it in a blueberry shrub in my backyard every year. The rubber snake will fake out most birds and keep the blueberries from being polished off by the birds in the area. I place the snake in the shrub and try to move it to a new spot about once a week. (Yes it works)

Used it outside to deter woodpeckers and it broke down in the sunlight in New England.
8 months old and in pieces. Had it on a balcony where the woodpeckers liked to rap on the house. It scared the woodpeckers away but the snake has disintegrated in the sun.

.......perfect snaky look and feel.
I am desperately trying to keep the birds out of my yard so the cats can't get them. My neighbor has 10 cats and the impact is tremendous including recently a little screech owl! I got fake falcons and fake owls and a bunch of these to twine through the tree branches. Can't say they will scare the birds but I have these dangling a little and they move with the breeze. Felt creepy. I might get a few more for Halloween!
