Very nice set for children's craft time
My daughter and I both love this set. It comes with 24 colors which is far more than your average set. They are seated in 3 separate trays of 8 colors so you can take out one tray at a time or use them all at one time. The plastic kit that they come in is great for storage however it isn't suitable for leaving them in while using them. The plastic lid tries to close down on top of the watercolors and makes it hard to get to your colors easily. Because of this we just remove each tray from the plastic case when we are painting.Be careful when handling the indivdual trays because the watercolors do pop out easily. My daughter bumped ours and it fell down and our colors went rolling under the furniture. We rounded them all back up and none were broken. This set includes 24 separate colors and a small paint brush. The colors produced were very vivid on paper, yet they washed right off of my daughter when she got them on her hands and arms. The paint pots are deep and they don't break easily (we know we dropped them lol). There are 24 colors some are different shades of the same color but all are different colors.Overall, we both love the extra variety in this set and were very pleased with the colors produced when working with them. I would highly recommend this set for any child ages 3+.*I paid the full price for this product as it was available trough Amazon's Add-On program with a qualifying order of $25 or more.

Fun no matter how old you get.
These are the first watercolors I've touched since I was in elementary school, but I've always enjoyed art and I've wanted to take up painting again. This, of course, is pretty much the cheapest way to do it without ending up with a product so inferior it's not even worth having. Of course better quality paints would be more expensive, and besides, it's my understanding that certain paint pigments (typically) contain toxic substances, so these are also (to my knowledge) safer, too.I was concerned that the pans in these would be really shallow because there are so many colors (often you get more variety of something at the expense of quantity), but I think these were pretty good in that aspect. And if you mix the wet paint with water in another container, you'll get lighter colors, and they should last even longer. The trays/packaging is REALLY cheap and flimsy, I don't see why anyone willing to buy this product would care. I certainly didn't.In terms of color, I was also pleasantly surprised. (Elementary school is a bit far back to remember! lol) The color of these is very, very bold (when you let a little water sit on the paint). I wish I had some kind of palette I could put some of the paint on and dilute it.The thing I always hated about painting was trying to mix colors. It's not that hard to get something like the color you want the first time... but the second time around you'll be very lucky to match it, unless you somehow manage to do exactly the same thing in mixing the colors. Having this many colors saves you a lot of that.Over all, from the amount of paint I got, to the quality of color and so on, I would definitely buy these again! You're never too old to enjoy doing art, and in this stressful world, one needs to have some fun! This set is hard to find in stores in my area, so getting them on Amazon is a must!

have the kids loved them. So much so that I have usually ...
I use these in Sunday school.I used to just get the 8 color watercolors but someone else bought some for me and got a couple of these 24 count sets thinking they were replacement strips. Wow, have the kids loved them. So much so that I have usually had to have two kids share each set to make everyone happy. After a year of occasional use, the 8 color sets needed to be replaced, but not the 24 color sets. Remember--they got twice as much use with two kids using the same set at one time. Instead of replacing the used up 8 color sets with more of the same, I got all 24 color sets this time. The kids were really excited to see them. They are definitely worth the money. Also--the colors are beautiful and bright. I've never had any trouble with Crayola watercolors staining anything. They truly clean up with just plain water most of the time.

Perfect with Crayola paintbrushes
This is perfect for any child who's starting to use water colors. They come in 3 strips of 8 colors which you can put away separately so you can minimize the mess of water splashing over to other colors and saving the other colours from being tainted by an overzealous child trying out all colors without rinsing the brush first (yes, been there!).The paints are water soluble and washes off easy if they get on your kids clothes (Perfect for kids who dislike wearing an art apron!).The paintbrush that comes with this is very basic but ok for a young child whos just exploring water colors. For my 3.5yr old who has tried this out in chidcare, I bought the crayola 4 big paintbrush set to complement this.

The paints are great, but the packaging is flimsy and that's a problem
I wish I could rate the product and the product-through-Amazon separately. The paints are great. My kids love them and the colors are surprisingly vivid for being a children's set. The price can't be beat.I ordered a few sets for the gift closet (along with watercolor pads). One of the sets was open and one strip of paint was loose in the box. Two sets were missing brushes. All of the sets had duplicate colors - not 24 separate colors. The cases are not sealed very well and it seems as though a lot popped open and whoever cleaned up the mess stuck random paint strips into boxes. I have no idea what they did with the brushes.Crayola, if you are selling to Amazon - regardless of how tight the margins may be - please provide cases that actually seal shut. It wouldn't hurt to shrink wrap the paint box, either.
