I was pleasantly surprised how well it worked! It's deserves a god review. Well made. Maybe I expected less because of the price point. I highly recommend.

Come on; Under $250 for a SDS *MAX* Rotary hammer? No way. That's what I thought. That it says "SDS Plus system" in the description was confusing and I thought the price was so affordable that if it WAS a Plus setup, I'd return it. Nope. This is a Bona Fide SDS Max system and it *kicks ass*. The bit shanks are very heavy duty 3/4" diameter. I bought a clay spade for it and the super hard-packed soil on my property carved away like ice cream. Just an extremely well-built, good looking, POWERFUL machine. You wonder how much profit Bosch, Milwaukee, etc. are making off of suckers with their pricing. It either Hammers or Hammer drills, it does not have a Drill only function, as my Bosch SDS Plus model does...but I paid the same price for both, and this makes the Bosch look like a pipsqueak. It is heavy duty and also HEAVY, so watch your backs, dudes!

This review is for the Berserker 1-9/16" SDS-Max Heavy Duty Rotary Hammer Drill. While I have not used it long enough to know about durability, it has a lot of power and performance for the low price. I took off 1 star due to not having a grounded plug, which I definitely want for working in soil. I bought this for cutting a very large hole in extremely hard, compacted soil. The hole goes down nearly 5 feet, then 68 inches horizontally beneath a wide concrete walk to access plumbing to make repairs. I was skeptical about the weight (16 pounds) which for me is a lot to wield while on my knees when going horizontally, especially with several pounds of front end weight added with a large drill or blade for cutting. It does cut like a beast in hammer mode, and when working vertically the weight makes drilling or cutting both easy and very fast.PROS 1. very powerful - easily drills or cuts very heavy soil that has been compacted for house foundation which is hard enough to make using a pick nearly useless 2. SDS chuck works great when bit ends are greased 3. variable speeds, although I never needed lower speeds for what I was doing 4. a wide variety of bits for drilling, cutting, etc. are easy to find online and all SDS Max bits I have tried work great 5. vibration suppression works well 6. hammering is about zero unless some pressure is applied, allowing easy repositioning without releasing power gripCONS 1. NOT A THREE PRONG(GROUNDED) PLUG, unlike the description in the manual 2. the rotatable handle is difficult to turn even when made very loose, but it does go 360' and does stay put while working

As a Professional Drainage Contractor I use this more than once per week. This is my second drill and I would give it 6 stars if I could. Unbelievable power and reliability.

I am really impressed with this. It does work! Drills through concrete block like butter and dove an 8’ copper rod in to coral rock. Better than expected.

Drilled my first 1.5 inch diameter, 10 inch deep hole into a solid boulder - things worked perfectly. Took about 15 minutes. Took a 10 min break, and I came back to a blazing hot drill. It was as if the thing were still drilling away! I gave it some more time, then started again on a 2nd hole. The unit is struggling this time, and keeps catching and torquing around sharply. I’m going to let it cool off completely before starting again, but it this keeps up I’m returning. I know this is an inexpensive drill - but still, it’s not like I’ve been using it all day at a job site!!I’ll update if things start working again after cooling off!———Update - I tried a new heavier gauge cord but that did not work. I possibly received a defective unit. The seller was very responsive and quick to issue a refund. Updating the rating to reflect the service. Considering the low cost, it’s worth considering as the risk of an issue seems to be low.

This is better than the name brand sds max I had to repair after 6 hours. This is the best chipping hammer / hammer drill I have ever used in 40 years of construction experience.Don't worry just buy it! AWESOME tool.
