PUR Stainless Steel Style Faucet Mount & 1 Mineral Clear Filter

Our brita kept dying/breaking/leaking so I opted to find something else. This is perfect! It moves out of the way when you need full access to the sink and/or faucet. It’s easy to use and even easier to install. It came with directions but I didn’t need them. Just pop it on and start using! We’ve had it a while and haven’t needed to replace the filter. I think it depends a lot on the quality of your city water so that might not be the case for everyone.

I love Pur water filters and have been using them for years. It was time to replace the old one, I chose this as it matched my kitchen. When it came, imagine my surprise to realize I paid double the price for a stainless steel painted plastic filter mount. While I am perfectly happy with the performance of the unit, charging twice as much for a more popular paint color with no difference in product quality is ridiculous.

I had a similar model for years (currently dubbed "PUR PLUS Water Filtration System, Metallic Grey – Horizontal Faucet Mount" on Amazon) but I hated the horizontal mount it was really annoying to detach it from the faucet -- I always had to get out a wrench. As you'll see in the photos, this one came with a quick-disconnect system which can be operated by use of two white squeeze buttons.When I first mounted it, it leaked quite a bit of water. After buying some plumbers threading tape and using that for the part that screws onto the faucet, all is well. I was initially skeptical about the device being able to rotate freely around the quick-disconnect .... connector ... but it's actually really nice to be able to move it so easily. Only had it for a week, but so far am very pleased.

Knocked the strong chlorine smell in the water out. It makes the water pleasantly drinkable which it would not be without a good filter.

I bought the PUR Faucet Filtration System- Horizontal. For some reason ever since I had the model water has had no pressure. It would pour slowly and take forever to pass through the filter. If your family would swing the unit back and forth it will loosen up and unhinge from the faucet. Now this unit its has great water pressure. Installation is easy. First, screw the black adapter to the facet the snap the unit upward making a click to know it's secure. In case you like to take off the unit just pinch two buttons on the side at the same time. Best purchase ever. No regrets here.
