Perfect product! Super easy to use and does the job perfectly!
OMG I love this thing! Unlike other pill shooters that have loops you need to put your fingers in, this one is easy to hold, and you can adjust your grip as your cat snakes its head back and forth in a futile attempt to escape your tender care.Seriously, I'd give this 10 stars if I could. I have three senior cats who need meds every day, and without this, I'd be struggling.PS: If, like me, you have cats that need multiple meds, get some pill capsules and stick all of the meds in them. This thing will hold the capsules with no problem.

Easy to use and works great for small dog.
I have a 16-year-old miniature Dachshund with heart problems that needs three medications. Two are cut in half and one cut in quarters. I put all three pills in the dispenser at once and it worked great. I also did it with one half and quarter pill together and it worked great too. So much easier that using my fingers and she doesn't always want the pill pocket treat. I am very pleased with this product.

A must have for troublesome cats
We adopted Raqui when she was 9 yrs old, so she had already developed a spoiled & sassy personality. Sept 2022 she was diagnosed with stomach cancer and given 6-9 months to live.During the course of her 12 month chemotherapy journey she needed to take up to 6 pills daily. Her and I FOUGHT terribly each with each and every pill, she ended up biting me & scratching me many times. I was so stressed out and DREADED it each & every time. I tried so many different recommended methods like wrapping her in a towel, using a cat mask, hiding it in different foods/treats, forcing it down her throat, even a makeshift device similar to this one. My husband kept telling me to try a legitimate "pill pusher", and I bought this one (as well as another brand). This thing not only made pill time smooth and easy, but she was happier because she didn't need to be tortured with the alternative methods. The other brand didn't do as well or always eject the tiny pills properly. To make this one work easier I would coat the pills in a small amount of spreadable cheese and put them inside the silicone tip. Then I would still wrap her body tightly in a towel to prevent her from scratching me. I'd flip her over on her back and secure her head in the crook of my leg, then to prime her I'd put a tiny bit of the spreadable cheese on her lips, to get her licking and swallowing. Then I would wedge the silicone tip through her back teeth so the ejector would deposit the cheese coated pills deeper into her mouth or into the start of her throat. You have to do this quickly because sometimes she would begin to purposely gag/force the pill out of her mouth. Then you must rub the outer neck/throat to induce more swallowing. Make sure that there is at least one swallow before releasing her from the towel. Once the pill has been moistened by saliva and/or the cheese it is much harder to retry the process, and then you wind up with the medicine on your fingers, which can lead to your own absorption. I would take the silicone tip off and hand wash it as well as the ejector tip. The original silicone tip lasted the entire time that I used the device, and I never had to resort to the back up piece. I feel like that says a lot about the quality, since it didn't stretch out rip any during the removal or washing.I know that using this device allowed Raqui to survive longer. She lived over 12 months beyond her initial diagnosis!!! She passed away in October 2023, and I still miss her precious face and her sweet meows everyday!! I have included a picture when she was initially diagnosed and another of her just before she passed away. She did lose about half of her starting body weight due to refusing to eat, but at least I know that she received every dose of medication that the doctor instructed. I can say I did everything I could to give her a longer happier life!!

Complete waste of time, effort and money
If you have a cat that is extra difficult to give pills to, do not get one of these.I read the reviews before buying it myself and thought "it can't be all that bad". BZZZZ....wrong! It can be and it is. It does not shoot the pill to the back of the cat's tongue where it is easy to get them to swallow it. All it does is drop the pill gently out the end of it. If you don't have the end of the pill pusher all the way in the back of kitty's mouth, then that pill is going nowhere except out and onto the floor.I tried using this item and finally gave up. I went back to our old one, which is 100% better, even if it is 10 years old and showing its age.Don't waste your money.P.S. I tried giving this a zero stars review, it wouldn't let me. You have to give it at least one star. It's not worth even one.

I really wanted this to work!
Edit: I have changed my review from 3 stars to 4. Their customer service is exceptional! After reading my review, they reached out and I was offered a full refund, even though it was past my return period. But I’ve decided to keep the product because I know our small local shelter can always use these kinds of supplies, and I still think it’s a good product even if it’s not “for me”. So if you’re on the fence about trying it, I’d say go for it. If it’s not ‘for you’ either, at least you have the peace of mind that you can return it for a full refund. Or you can donate it to a rescue shelter.I have an 18 year old cat with multiple health issues that require giving him five pills, twice a day. Some are tiny and some are kind of huge. So I bought this tool in hope of reducing his stress during medicine time. But sadly, it actually made pill time even more stressful.Pros: I do like how the silicone tip is soft and won’t scratch the soft pallet and is easy on the teeth if the cat tends to try and bite down on it. It also does hold regular-sized pills well. It would probably work well for any small pets that take normal, whole pills. The trigger is also responsive and releases normal size/shape pills easily.Cons: My cat takes varying sized pills, with some cut in 1/4 pieces and the cut pills do not stay in the silicone tip properly, plus they tend to not dispense when the trigger is pressed if the pill is cut. The tool is also very awkward to hold with a squirming cat trying to get away. It may work better if one person is holding the cat still while the other uses the tool.Sadly, I’ve just gone back to giving his medication by hand. As long as you keep your fingernails trimmed very short (and your cat’s claws trimmed) it’s actually kind of easy to give them pills once you find the ‘secret’ combo position that works for both you and the cat. I use this method:With my left hand (I’m right handed), I hold the back of my cat’s head by his neck for stability. With my left thumb, I lift his chin so he’s looking up toward the ceiling.Holding the pill with my thumb and index finger of my right hand, I use my right middle finger to wedge open his mouth at the back corner. With his mouth open, and him looking up, I drop the pill at the back of his throat.Close his mouth, gently massage his throat to trigger his swallow reflex, then repeat.
