Dose anyone know why when I put this on my go kart it makes a grinding noise and the clutch and wheels start spinning I just put it on yesdterday?

Running your chain too tight can cause a clutch like yours to act up. Your sprockets must be lined up also.

Will it fit a1 5/8 long shaft?

The bore of the clutch itself is roughly 2.5 inches long
