Purchased for a beloved retiree so critical that the plague represent — this does that. The unit came in padded plastic- no box no problem- and I plan to wrap it that way. But if my finger test is right, the words are actually carved out vs just stamped on - simply beautiful!

The picture shows the letters being darker. When you get it, they are really light. Its not a bad gift, would be better if the lettering was darker because it differentiates the letters from the plaque
