Super simple to use and extremely well built.
Works exactly as advertised, My I7 7700K was hitting 100°C and throttling at slightly over stock speeds. I definitely got a bad application from factory looking back. I used this and and delided in about 5 minutes, I applied some liquid metal and now my temps under the same load at higher speeds rarely hit 80°C now. It was my first time deliding a processor but it’s super simple. A few YouTube tutorials, this tool, a stiff plastic card I used a old credit card ( for scraping the old silicone off), some nail polish to keep the liquid metal off of conductive things under the IHS and some high temp gasket maker to to seal things back up. If I can do it I know you can. My only complaint is that I don’t have any more CPU’s to use this on. Lol

Make sure it is compatible with the CPU you wish to delid
Bought and used this device to delid an Intel Skylake i7-6700T CPU that was running a little hot. It worked flawlessly. The CPU's heat spreader came right off with a quick snap, without any damage to either heat spreader or CPU.I'll be using this delidder in the future to delid other Intel CPUs that run a little too hot, to replace the cheap Intel thermal grease between the CPU die and the heat spreader with Arctic Silver 5 or liquid metal.

Easy, works great on i7 8086k
Delidded my i7 8086K and applied thermal grizzly conductonaut. Lowered temps about 10C at idle and 20-25C at normal full load. Stress tests used to thermal throttle, now max around 90C. Very easy. Definitely watch Der8auer’s how-to video first. Sturdy, easy to use, and basically fool proof. Don’t overtighten when you reapply your lid!!

Very simple and extremely well made
Works like a charm. High build quality and very little risk of harming your processor (with this device). Extremely simple to use. Just note the orientation of the IHS before removing it, carefully clean off all the old sealant, replace the factory TIM with your TIM of choice and use a high quality silicone sealant when you reinstall the IHS. I used an automotive gasket sealant from Permatex. If you decide to use a liquid metal TIM make sure to tape off the die and coat the PCB with conformal coating to avoid shorting out the CPU.

Follow directions and everything will be fine!
The tool worked great and was very well built! Loved how easy it was to delid my i7 8700k... I was worried that I was going to mess it up but all is well... Delieded and liquid metaled the cpu and sealed it back up... Back in the computer and now running a 5.3 overclock on it at about 60 to 65c... To bad the hex key wasn't in the box when it arrived or I would have given it a 5 star

Works perfectly, needs better instructions
I would give 5 stars but the instructions are not good enough for something that could potentially damage a 300 dollar processor. Use YouTube if you don't already know exactly how to use one of these.Once I knew what to do, though, it worked great.

Amazing
I was very hesitant about deliding my cpu (i7 7700k).Watched many videos and read a lot about it and it seemed the der Bauer tool mate 2 was the best fit. Very simple to use and arrived in 3 days.My i7 7700k ran hot since day one, idle temps were low to mid 40’s at idle and hit 100 degrees during prime95 and other stress tests. The whole process was quick and easy with the tool, cleaning the silicon from factory was time consuming but wasn’t difficult. Applying the thermal grizzly was stressful but fairly simple if you watch videos on how it moves and how much to apply. I only sealed the four corners of the ihs and applied LM to both the dye and on the bottom of the ihs.Now i7 7700k runs at 28-30 degrees at idle and didn’t go over 55 degrees from prime95 and other tests!!! This tool is amazing, highly recommend it. Also mention I have an H150i pro and 9 case fans and was getting the high temps before Delid. Hope this review helps, if I could do this then anyone can!!!
