Joy!: A Bible Study on Philippians for Women (Delighting in the Word)

This is a good book for beginners but I found it repetitive and not enough depth in the study

I loved the ladies Bible study that I had with our church women's group! It caused us to reflect on Christ as our joy in all things and gave us hope that even through a pandemic we can have joy in Christ. The ladies enjoyed the questions and though the book of Philippians is short, we found plenty of discussion points to really take good study and work through the 10 weeks of the study.

This is a quality bible study, but it's not for me because it's a strict application of one method of observation-interpretation-application of very short passages of Philippians each day. This would be great for me if it were paired with some "fluff" like personal anecdotes and prompts for introspection for journaling. Plus space for journaling. It's a bit to academic for my taste.

Great bible study on the book of Philippians. Keri Folmar did an excellent job with this study. I would not recommend this be the first bible study you do if you are new to bible studies however. I say this because the homework for each day can be pretty intense and if bible study is so brand new to you, I would either do this with someone else, be prepared to do the study for a longer period of time instead of just the 10 weeks to give yourself more room to finish the homework, etc or get your feet wet with something else.

I am loving this Bible study! I have long lacked any kind of method when it comes to studying the Bible and spent a good amount of time researching a simple yet solid study guide that would teach me how to study the Word on my own. This study uses the inductive method and I love that approach as it teaches you to examine God's Word in context, which is so important. I also love that the author reminds you to spend time I prayer before each time of study. I can't wait to finish this one and then move on to the James study!

We will be starting to use this book in November so I can't really rate it yet. But all the ladies have looked it over and found it very favorable, but quite intense, compared with what we had before. We love the spiral bound and we actually can read, as the print is darker than we had before, which made it almost impossible to read.

With a degree in Christian education and over 10 years of leading and participating in women's Bible Study, I've looked at and worked through a lot if Bible Study curriculum. This study does an incredible job of taking you through the observation, interpretation, and application process. It helps you see how Scripture should effect not just your individual relationship with God but also how you relate to those within your church and your neighbor. I was encouraged and challenged as I discovered new truths!

I love this! I’m doing a study with a few women from my church and I love this book. It has so many good, thought provoking questions. It’s easy to do on your own or with a small group. It really gets you into the book you’re reading, which is wonderful.I highly recommend this book.
