Q: is there a need to use this in conjunction with say lemon oil when replacing strings or could this do both jobs?

I use lem oil only on the neck and frets. The fast fret keeps strings cleaner. I find the lem oil binds up the strings after time. Do not use the oil on new strings.

Q: Does it help to remove rust of the strings?

No it won't. Would possibly prevent rust if applied frequently as a prevention. New strings required.

Q: Is it safe to use on a guitar with maple neck.

100% safe. I use it on my maple tele after every play. Would recommend for lengthening string life/fretboard conditioning.

Q: Is this usable for lubricating the nut and bridge saddles?

I use graphite from a pencil on the nut and saddles when I changed strings, fast fret is excellent for the strings before and after you play :)
