PENROC 3 Litre bag Lava Rock (Lavasteine) Replacement Ceramic Briquettes

I used this on my double gas bbq, and used them to replace lava rocks.They are created so they are all the same shape and size which makes them a pleasure to place unlike the normal lava rocks which I found were normally 50% lava 50% cheap rock.This spreads the heat and does take a little longer for my bbq to reach 200°C but I can accept that.I have been coming steak daily on the bbq and feel this has made a great difference, nice smokey flavour, yet to use wood chips with them but cant see it being a problem.I wasnt going to buy these as I was focused on "Lava Rocks" but very glad I did, if you're thinking about making a change take a punt they are not expensive and If you disagree you can go back.

Worked extreemly well on the bbq and there is enough to last several times over

I had difficulty sourcing replacement lava rock briquettes for my gas barbecue in this country, and these work very well. Unlike the originals (which over the years have crumbled away), these have a flat bottom, so they do not settle onto the grid as well, but the cooking results are good. Just the job.

bought to replace dirty old lava rock. works well and seems to add to the flavour!

Replaced my old volcanic rock after one piece exploded and stuck to my neck leaving a nasty scar. These are much better, retain the heat and don't deteriorate at any great pace. Very impressed. this second purchase was to top up an earlier order that was sold in a smaller quantity.

Just what was needed for my BBQ

Bought to replace a set on a BBQ. 2 of them were broken in the pack but no big deal. Used all summer. Heat transfer is reduced slightly but this is no bad thing as less food got burnt.
