Excelent results
My bike frame was quite battered, and I thought it would be an interesting project to try and re-spray it myself, as getting it re-sprayed professionally would be quite expensive. After some research I bought this paint, as well as the matching undercoat (Spray.Bike 48410 Putty 1 Bicycle-Specific Spray Paint - Smoothing Putty) and protective lacquer (Spray.Bike 48400 Varnish 1 Bicycle-Specific Spray Paint - Transparent Finish).I spent some time looking at youtube videos on how to get a good finished, and one thing that is definitely worth it is to do a thorough job in cleaning and preparing the frame before you start applying the paint. You need to be careful when applying the base coat, as it is easy to lay it on too thick. As the paint itself is self priming, it may be worth applying the base coat only in the areas where there are deep gouges or chips, using a thick filler coat, and then sand to get an even surface. For best results you should clean thoroughly after sanding. The undercoat can runs out quick, I just about managed to finish my frame before I run out of the 400mL can.Once the base coat is sanded and all thoroughly clean and dry, applying the colour coat is really easy. The spray pattern is good, and you get good coverage without excessive running, the idea is you apply successive light coats so that you get good coverage without runs. If you do get runs, then it is sanding to even the level, clean and re-spray if needed. The paint goes a long way, and I had probably a quarter of the 400 mL can left by the time I finished. Finally, use the protective lacquer to make sure the paint will not scratch off. As with the base coat, you need to be careful to apply lightly, as it is easy to get runs, which then you need to sand down and start again.Overall very happy with the result, which ended up looking better than I expected (now I need new wheels because the frame looks new!), only thing is, if you want a good finish, take your time.

Fantastic Results
I recently sprayed an old MTB frame with bog standard spray paint and lacquer. Finish was rubbish (to me anyway) so had a shop around for other paints. Gave the bike a quick clean and sand, removed all the components and then sprayed with the black Matt paint. Came up fantastic. Paint goes on really easy, hardly any drippage, runs etc and is really thick when dry. I was going to leave it with the matt finish but took a gamble and got some of the sparkly lacquer they also sell. Frame looks outstanding and near professional finish. Normally nothing impresses me anymore because I'm a middle aged man, but this stuff sure did. My other bikes have begged me to do them too. I'm think a sparkly red for the next one!

Be careful and be patient
Ok so matt black spray in a can. Keep your expectations low and you will be fine. Prepare surface carefully. Sand and prime first. Wait at least 20 mins between coats. Apply light misty coats. 3 or 4 minimum. The finish is not baby smooth it is textured but nice looking. May need a gentle sand between coats but i liked the finish so didnt sand. Essential to apply transparent varnish afterwards (2 or 3 coats).

Good item does the job
Used this to re-colour my daughters bike. It goes on well and gives a good finish. I would say that like most painting jobs the prep is the key to great results but this paint also assisted.Dries fairly quick and I was pleased with the outcome. Durability ? Time will tell but for now it looks good

Professional look without the cost
I had a cove stiffee frame in matt silver which had taken some serious abuse over the years and was in desperate need of a spray job, after checking the prices for a professional job i realised that it would cost almost as much as the frame cost me to get it painted. I was contemplating sticker bombing the frame but stumbled across an article by mbuk about spray.bike, i have used automotive paints in the past for various bmx frames and they always looked terrible so was a bit aprehensive to purchase this. The paint comes out almost like a powder and doesnt seem to dribble or run like traditional spraypaint. It was very easy to apply and i can honestly say it looks like a factory spray job. The clear coat is a bit trickier but if you spray sparingly in multiple coats it comes up a treat. I am so happy with this paint and would recomend it to anybody looking to give there frame a new look without spending a fortune.

Excellent spray paint really does the job and no drips ...
Excellent spray paint really does the job and no drips or cracks and it dries really fast. I recently bought a new bike just last week I got it home to my surprise and anger the paint work was chipped it wasn't that big or noticeable but I knew it was there and that was enough for me to buy some spray paint and fix it myself the bike is a Vodo Bantu mountain bike the paint work is awesome matt black and yellow anyway I fixed it with this brick lane spray paint and let me tell you it's awesome stuff pure professional finish I would highly recommend this paint to for it you'll see.

Not the Best
Used 4 different colours of this spray to redo my bike, after sanding my whole bike down and spraying about 3 coats of this and then sealing with a clear gloss spray, after one use of my bike with a few knocks the spray chips off very easy on the handle bars and tire inner rims! Supposed to be self primed spray, without the faff of priming the metal beforehand but I now wonder if a good primer would’ve helped it stick a bit more?! The black spray, the dark purple and lilac come out nice and non powdery but don’t waste your money on the neon pink as this came out awful and just looked like powder on the metal, I had to result to using a sponge to dab this colour on to get my desired effect. Probably look else next time 😟
