Great product!
Was skeptical about it at first, but after getting it and punching 50+ holes through Boron steel for plug welds it didn't miss a beat. Tried it on a 1/4" piece of plate after and punched it like paper. Great for popping out spot welds too!

A very good hole puncher but you may run into some minor flaws in production.
I bought this puncher from Amazon Warehouse for about $100 less than retail cost. It was listed on Amazon Warehouse because of retail packaging damage but the machine itself was listed as USED but AS NEW. I had already purchased a battery-powered hydraulic hole puncher (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CWCVCSXD?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_asin_title) and am very pleased with it. I decided that I also needed one that was 120v AC powered in case my batteries were used up and I needed to keep punching (I have a machine shop and do a lot of hole punching). So, I found this unit. The unit arrived double boxed and there was no damage to any current packaging nor to the unit itself or its carrying case (very nice plastic case). The unit was obviously not used because everything was in perfect cosmetic condition. However, the bag that the unit was in contained a lot of hydraulic fluid. I knew then that there were issues with the unit beyond the original damaged packaging. I took the unit out of the bag and tried to install the base stand. The screws would not start in the tapped holes in the unit's base so I had to chase them using a M6x1 tap. Once that was done the base stand went on easily. I checked the amount of hydraulic fluid in the unit and found that it was very low. I filled the unit up with standard hydraulic jack fluid (32w) and began testing it. When the unit was running and the pressure release valve was closed (all the way clockwise) there were no leaks anywhere. When the unit was running or turned on its side with the pressure release valve downward and the valve turned slightly counter-clockwise there was a steady drip of hydraulic fluid leaking from the stem of the pressure release valve. I knew then that the o-ring on the pressure release valve stem was either missing, damaged or undersized. So, I popped the stop pin up on the knob and unscrewed the valve stem to remove it from the unit. The o-ring was still intact and undamaged but was too small for the bore. It was 9mm OD x 1.5mm CS (cross section) x 6mm ID. I replaced it with a Buna-N (Nitrile) o-ring that was 10mm OD x 2mm CS x 6mm ID. When reinserted, the valve stem was a snug fit back into the bore. I popped the stop pin back down, refilled the reservoir and then tested it again. No more leaks and now a perfectly good electric hydraulic puncher. I am very much impressed with this unit as it stands now. I've punched literally hundreds of holes with this unit and my battery-powered unit (They both use the same punches and dies) and have yet to have a failure with either unit or any punches or dies. They will both punch 20.5mm holes in 6mm mild steel like nobody's business. This unit is rated at 10 Tons of punching pressure but it takes 16.2 Tons of pressure to punch a 20.5mm hole in 6mm mild steel so this unit is vastly underrated. My battery-powered unit is already rated at 16 Tons so this one should be rated 16T too. As far as longevity goes that remains to be seen. My American-made punchers (I have more than a dozen of them) are 25 yrs old or older and still going strong. I expect these Chinese-made punchers to have a long life also because they appear to be well made. I don't expect their punches and dies to last as long as my American-made ones but they don't cost $300 each either. In conclusion, I think for the money you can't go wrong with this unit and you probably won't experience the base thread issue (probably caused by surface finishing the unit) and the leaking pressure release valve stem (probably caused by over-polishing the valve stem bore). Even though there were some issues with this unit I'm very happy with it and glad that I made the purchase.

Motor burn after a couple of holes
It work ok at beginning but after several holes smoke started coming out of machine and it stop working. Warranty expired already so I was able to punch out a few holes. I hardly used the machine. When I need it it gave out.

This is not a toy
I didn’t watch the clearance when stamping this 3mm thick stainless steel plate and the machine just kept going like it’s nothing, the 6.5mm template hole blew up in sparks when the part moved because of the roll bearing being thicker. It was my bad, but I believe this product can be quite dangerous to handle but it gets the job done faster than you can say F***!

Worked well
Punched over 200 slotted holes in electrical box covers and it worked well. The ram wouldn’t return after it punched a hole without me rapping on it with my pliers. Not perfect but it didn’t let me down. Took my time setting it up as I wasn’t using a round die. No real instructions included but if you have a little bit of mechanical ability you will figure it out.

Don't purchase, don't be cheap
Punch worked great in the beginning. Stopped working right after the refund period (30 days). Purchase a more reliable product.
