So much nicer than my last MIG welder
First off, I'm a beginner hobbyist. However, I had help from someone with training. My friend helped me pick the welder. He was impressed by the features, quality, and low cost, too. This welder is so much nicer than the last one I bought for about the same price. First, this has a gas option. Of course, that gives much nicer welds vs. flux core. But, you can still do flux core, of course.Second, it's very light and compact. That makes it easy to stow and travel with the welder.Third, the welder cabinet is metal and very sturdy. It's built really well. The cabinet door fits snuggly and doesn't rattle. The welds were consistent. The wire feed is easily adjusted and keeps up with welding speed.Being dual-voltage, it's easy to find power, making it even more portable. The kit includes a basic mask you fold together, and a basic wire brush. You'll want to buy a mask that suits your needs anyway. The gas connector is barbed instead of a quick-connect or thread on connector. If you're traveling with the welder the connector might be a problem.

This little welder is such a labor saver!
I have a very heavy duty Lincoln welder that is very big and heavy, and needs 220 V to operate. It's great but way overkill to do smaller welding jobs. THIS little baby can run on 110 V which I can't tell you how convenient that makes it for me. I have wanted to buy a smaller welder for years. Wish I pulled the trigger sooner. Speaking of triggers, this machine is incredibly smooth operating as far as the wire feed/trigger touch. It has the option to use shielding gas too. I can't comment much on the welding helmet that comes with it because I use the one I had already with special lens for my vision issues and auto darkening. This is an incredible value. I can't believe someone can MAKE a MIG welder at this price point! My BBQ grill hood handle kept getting loose and the screws were rusty and stripped on me. I plugged into my deck outlet and put down a few little welds, 5 minute repair. I needed a cymbal clamp to be very specific, to reach to a certain spot on my kit. I welded two different pieces together to get the reach I needed that nobody else sold. This little fab job was so easy with this welder.-It's lightweight (for a welder!)-It's extremely affordable. I paid MORE for my soldering station than I did for this.-It is extremely efficient. I thought all my lights would dim lol-This is a GREAT first welder to tinker and learn with! Always wanted to learn? Get one and start laying down some beads. Much easier than learning stick welding.-This was designed for 110 V ALTERNATING current and it was done right. AC on welders, well I won't get technical but it can cause some issues with the welds, porosity, etc. This is designed to work with the .30 flux core wire. I don't know how they did it, but it's right.-Add an argon tank (or CO2), Nice that this has that ability.-Portable, like really portable. I hooked this up to a little generator I had and it worked fine. I used to ride quads and dirt bikes in the middle of nowhere. I wish I could have had this then. With a small gen and this, could be very useful for a quick remote repair when something broke. Nice to have at a construction site for those little unforeseen needs too.Two thumbs up!

Small, lightweight and powerful unit.
Item is as described, arrived quickly even though I live in Alaska. I ran a couple beads to try it out and it welds nicely. My only complaint about this unit is the location of the power switch, it’s on the rear of the unit cabinet. Other than the inconvenience of the switch location it’s a great little buzz box and I couldn’t be more pleased with the awesome price. For light duty welds, ie: home and hobby use I think this is a good machine and highly recommend it. Now to see it’s longevity and I will edit my post accordingly when/if it ever fails.

Serenelife mig/flux IGBT welder
Mig welding started in WW II as quick to learn vs stick welding. Two types of inexpensive welders, first A/C type, large transformer common from Harbor, now these DC type inverter IGB transistor. Original mig DC as are expensive older ones. Cheap A/C will stick metal together But since they switch current constantly it’s only right ½ the time, not as strong, poor penetration do not weld smooth folks often blame the wire, its the current. Flux core wire should be run DC negative Only. This welder is set up right out of the box for .030 flux core wire stinger on neg, ground pos. The drive wheel has knurled .030 slot and smooth .023 slot for gas shield welding. The drive wheel is standard, if you want to use .035 need to pick one up, .035 puts down more, fill gaps, but more splatter sparks, smoke. I use .023 gas shield on body panels rear quarter panels. Far less distortion less work than dealing with flux core, worth renting cylinder getting a regulator a plus for this welder. There are IGBT flux only welders with a single dial, but I prefer to dial in both wire speed and amps esp joining different thickness metal, wire feed a bit fast on this but not bad need to be quick on tack welds. This welder also runs on 220v so higher power this thick metal. I picked up cheapest wire on Amazon to test this, worried given the low price wasn’t good, ran good bead right out of the box, every thing I need. It comes with extra contact tips, get an auto darkening helmet, included shield not great, short warranty so run it right away to check everything, don’t wrap the stinger cord tight save ware on the wire liner, don't over tighten drive wheel can crush flux wire, price right now a bargain will probably go up. For a light portable welder that's both mig and flux, both 220/110, quiet and powerful hard to beat
