I love this paper for watercolor painting! The size is great for a thank you or other greeting card. I like them to experiment on a painting before tackling a larger scale.

Not gallery quality but a great practice, teaching, card quality that stands up to some use.

Didnt realize the size was small nut very nice

This paper does buckle when gotten quite wet, as at least one reviewer has posted, but if left taped till dry, which for me was maybe an hour without using a fan or blow dryer, it flattened right back out. I also didn't find that any of the paper tore when I removed the tape, either. I just use ordinary bright blue masking tape like you'd use painting a wall. I've used this tape with other papers when it did sometimes take off a little of the surface of the paper, but this paper was fine. And even though I tried to cause some, I didn't find any pilling, either.Although I might use this paper more as a practice paper because of the economy of it, I wouldn't hesitate to use it to create paintings given as gifts as well. The texture is nice and is the same on both sides, as far as I can see and feel. It isn't more smooth on one side than the other. I ordered the package of 200 sheets and haven't tried other packages so maybe the other sizes do have a smooth and a more textured side as I saw mentioned in another review.I paint more wet on dry or wet on damp. When doing that and not adding extremely wet washes as I did to test this paper, I have no problems with the paper rippling.As to it not being pure white, it's close enough that I don't really notice. I sometimes find pure white to be a little glaring unless I'm painting something in which I want to use bright white as a saved feature like sunlight on snow for instance, or in which I'm going to use a transparent single wash that the bright white will add luminosity to.I'm very pleased with this paper and will certainly purchase it in the future. It compares quite favorably to Bee paper, which I've used for several years now, but this paper is quite a bit cheaper.Editing to add that I've also tried the 5"X7" version of this paper and found it to also be a great paper and good value. It's textured on both sides the same and it did buckle a little when I got a piece very wet, but within an hour at room temperature it straightened right back out. I had taped it down and although it did tear just a tiny spot on the edge when I pulled the tape off quickly, it doesn't tear if the tape is removed more slowly and angled toward the edge of the sheet. I enjoyed using this size very much and I was very pleased when I used a wet on wet technique and saw how well the paint moved on the paper. The colors remain bright and vibrant when dry. The paints I normally use are Rosa Gallery, if that might matter, but sometimes I use other brands like White Nights, Sennelier, or Schmincke. The paper does very well with all of those.

Nice quality.

I got this for doing fineline art with pigment pens. I actually couldn't believe the fantastic deal it was for so many sheets! The paper is very good quality, strong and durable, holds water very well without wrinkles or buckling too. The ink doesn't bleed through and neither does paint. Now, it says that it is an off-white color, however, this is absolutely white even in direct sunlight. I highly recommend this to any artist because it is affordable and works very well. In fact, I will definitely be getting more very soon!
