Not the whole answer
I had to change quite a few bits from the old motor over to this new one before I could fit it. This is not difficult but you need to be methodical and note where all the screws come from as there are small differences in diameter and length. I had to strip it down a second time as the last screws to be fitted were not quite right. The motor itself works a treat and has made a huge difference. However, replacing the motor is not the only issue as there is a small roller that should sit in the middle of the front frame which helps to keep the assembly off the floor. When this wears over time it can fall out un noticed, putting more stress on the motor, which may well be the reason for the original motor’s demise. By the time the motor has failed, there isn’t much left of this front roller or the bracket that hods it so it isn’t just a case of getting, or making, a new roller. There is no doubt that the new motor has given the old cleaner extra life without the need for press-ups but if this roller has gone awol, a complete new head may be a better option particularly if you are not adept at carrying out such repairs. It is some months now since I undertook this repair and things are still going well and I have not yet found myself to be glued to the spot by the vacuum minus the roller so I count it as a success. For me it has been worth the risk.

Replacement for my Dyson Upright
I bought this as a replacement motor for my Dyson Upright Ball. I was skeptical at first as it's not an original part, but thought I'll give it a go for the price a new machine would cost me. Instant life returned and the beast is still going strong for over a year. Brilliant!

Easy to fit
Before I received this motor I knew that I would have to remove the rubber sleeve from the brush end of the motor, and unscrew the fitting on the other end. Having done that I fitted the equivalent parts from the DC41, which, of course, I already had on the failed original motor. From there on it was a case of re-assembling the everything back into the brush head - it's well worth making a note of which screw fits in which hole, because there are several different lengths of the same diameter screw. Having put the brush head back together I fitted it onto the vacuum cleaner and let my grandson test it - it's his Dyson Ball vacuum after all. He turned the vacuum on and a second later the brush roller fired up and whizzed round as it should, much to his delight. The new motor worked beautifully and there are no un-toward knocks or noises proving that a £24.99 motor can breath new life into an expensive to replace machine. As this motor appears to be made by the same manufacturer as the Dyson original you could hardly go wrong with it. So far I am very pleased with this purchase.

Good motor but damaged in delivery
Motor for DC25 itself was great and seems like original maker. Unfortunetly plastic mounting bracket on motor was damaged. Was easy to replace with bracket from old motor so no probem finally and worked perfectly. Should look to improve packing.

Got my Dyson working good as new!
Does what it needs to, Hoover was slightly noisier when I first used it but that seems to have improved with time.Perfect cost effective replacement

Also Fits DC55 if you swap the fittings over. Solved intermitent brushhead. Same as Dyson Orig
From the label and branding this motor is the same as Dyson originally fitted, so effectively OEM.If your looking at the motor, then its lilely you have already been capable enough to dismantle the brushead, and so fitting is just a reverse process. If you can't dismantle it or find someone who can. dont even try, but it is mainly all screws, mostly Torx fitting. My DC55 All Clean had a brushhead that would run for a few seconds and then stop. This so far has cured this.It is listed for other models only, but the only difference is the plastic fitting screwed to the end and the rubber sleev on the other end. If you have your old motor and these are not broken, it is a very simple job to swap these from the old one to the new. THe plastic end fitting unscrews with 2 screws (use the old motors screw to attach because they are slightly shorter, just in case).Dyson only sell the complete brush head (£65 as of June 2024 - cheaper direct than from online Parts stores!), so this has fixed my issue for a fraction of that cost (£25 June24) + some fiddling and faffing to remove the old and refit this new.And so far it works just like the original one did before it broke.

Works with DC40, Arrived quickly, Dyson is working again!
Use a multimeter to check you have power to the motor before confirming it is a problem with the motor. It's reasonably easy to swap out the old broken motor. You only need a few small torx drivers. We'll see how long the motor lasts, but it looks like an original Dyson supplied component (same Manufacturer).

Replacement brush motor for DC25
Far more cost effective than buying the whole brush head. Would recommend seller as arrived very quickly. Bit fiddly to fit but videos available on Youtube to show how to do the job. Recommend you take photos also as you dismantle the old motor. Been working perfectly for 5 weeks now so very happy
