Q: Is the what material is the spout and the filter, and does any plastic inside the kettle make contact with the water? Thanks

The spout is glass, as is the entire interior of this kettle (apart from the metal heating element which is stianless steel). The lid is also metal, but a plastic alternative lid has thoughtfully been supplied in case users worry about the metal one being too hot. The small filter can be removed easily.

Yes, the filter is removable if preferred to use without it, and yes, the pot turns off automatically.

Q: Just bought this but it doest automatically shuts off. After water is boiled it keeps running which can be very dangerous. Can you please advise?

I had that happen twice. In one case, the lid was not on—my bad. In the other case, I'm not sure what happened, but I think maybe the water level was close to the max. I would try doing it with the water level in between the min and max lines. If it shuts off, then that's good, at least. Of course, you might really want to have it at max all the time—fair enough. If it won't work with the water level at max, then technically it would be defective (so, return it).
