Not worth the money
For almost £170, I was expecting something special, but these fell short of mediocre. The sound quality was very good, and they are stylish, but that's it.The Bluetooth connection kept dropping out for a split second. Tried this on several devices and the problem persisted. Battery life is not 8 hours as described, I got less than half of this.I have pair of Taotronics, which I purchased for about £25, there is absolutely no justification for the price difference here. Except for sound quality (which there wasn't a huge difference), the Taotronics performed better in all aspects than the Jaybirds, which have now been returned.

After a lot of researching...
I was looking at wireless headphones for the gym for a while. I've always preferred in-ear buds over bigger overhead headphones due to the lighter weight and freedom of movement with overall less bulkiness. The more discreet look is definitely my preference. When looking at other similar options from Beats, Jabra, Plantronics, etc, the Jaybirds seemed the obvious choice due to the fact they offered a full seal in the ear instead of 'floating tips'. Those kind tips are safer for runners, as the allow ambient noise to enter, but in the gym I prefer to block out the outside world and have a clearer sound with deeper base. Not to mention, a better seal also means you don't have to turn up the volume as high! I'm sure my ears will thank me in the future...In terms of the buds themselves, I chose the Freedom's over the X3's due to the lower profile. Some users have said the controller is a bit heavy, which has some truth to it if the attachment is added. However, I've found with the over-ear orientation of the cable, this issue is removed and they remain snug in place with almost no noticeable weight. One thing to keep in mind is you do need to take the time to find which tips, fins and cable length works best for you. It's trial and error, but completely worth the investment as you will be using the headphones for a long time! In my case, it only took around 10 min and I now have hours upon hours of comfortable quality listening time. The sound profile of these headphones is great and the free app to select different music genres is easy to use and really makes a difference.Overall, I'm extremely happy with this purchase and glad I made the move. I also added the 2 year warranty and accident cover from Amazon as I thought with headphones this nice... what's £18 for the added for piece of mind!

While I really liked the design and accessories that came with this the battery life for the headset only was atrocious. Fully charged to 80% while sitting turned off overnight and a 30 minute run you need to recharge them if you want to use them again the next day. This was a real shame as I really did like how they fitted and the multiple choice of earphones and attachments plus the iPhone app was really good to adjust the sound quality.

Very Impressed
I bought these earphones through amazon warehouse deals based on the condition it was in very good condition. Bought for £29.25 and man am I happy that I bought these. Admittedly there was a few parts missing due to it being a refurbished, but a quick chat on customer service sorted this out with a £8.50 refund to cover the costs of getting new earbuds for the jaybirds. These head phones are great for general listening for long periods of time. Suprisingly bassy and the fact that I ran 10 miles with this on without it falling out was impressive.Only downside is that the battery should last for abit longer and does go down quite quickly but the extra battery that comes included does give that boost to 100% when you need it.Overall very impressed with the product and the fact that I got these in such good condition for so cheap. Also great customer service from Amazon as always. Highly recommend these earphones

All things considered, one of the best out there
Ever since BT headphones have been affordable, I have used them for exercise. I have been through a number of headsets over the past 10 years or so, and have come to realise - when it comes to a pair of BT headphones for sport or exercise, you cant have it all (yet)2 things i want from my headset, quality audio for music, and sweatproofing. In more recent times, i have tried the denon exercise freak (great sound, but died after 3 gym sessions) Nuforce BE6 (Amazing sound, but died after a few weeks use), Nuforce BE3 (again, amazing sound, but died after 2 uses), some cheaper chinese versions (OK sound, but cheap, some actually lasted a while) and the Jaybird freedom sprint (my first "sweatproof" headphones, and probably best to date, lasted about 2 years in all). My experience of Jaybird previously has lead me back to purchasing the Jaybird freedom headset, mainly as they are the only manufacturer i have had any real luck withSo, the Jaybird freedoms. I like these, do they tick all my boxes? no, but they are probably some of the better "sports" headphones available. I think at the moment, you just have to accept that a great headset for exercise (great comfortable fit, sweat proofing, versatility etc..) means sacrificing elsewhere (mainly Audio quality), although i say that, its not a massive sacrifice.Having had Jaybirds before, i found it straight forward to find a good fit for the headphones. I have used their fins and eartip combinations before so was easily able to get a good secure fit. No problems thereFunction wise, the headphones are small, light and comfortable. The accompanying app is good and useful. The additional battery provided is good to add additional charge should you need it, quite a nice touch. I found it fairly non intrusive if left attached to the main unit when walking, i am not sure it would be that comfortable while working out, but as an easy means to get more charge, i think its a great additionSo my main gripe, the audio. Now, for the average user, these will have great sound. Compared to many "standard" headphones, these do sound good, and with use of the EQ in the app you can get some heavy bass, clear mids and good top end. I think for the average user, it is more than enough. As a more particular user, i find the sound-stage far too close, sounds are clear, but not broad generally. The bass can be deep, but a little "muddy", more punchy than "boom-y" (the Nuforce models were better here i think). Vocals are a little mixed in the mid range, and can get a little confused with other sounds in this range. But, these are not high end audiophile headphones, these are exercise headphones, and all things considered i think these are a great model. Audio is better than the freedom sprint, just not as good as other models out there (which in my experience have not lived up to the "sweatproof" claims)On the whole, these manage to tick the most boxes, i just think those more fussy about our audio will be a little dissapointed, but the other functions and build make up for this. I think ill probably stick with Jaybird, they seem to know their stuff in this market
