Do I need to heat the glaze in order to coat a hot donut?

Yes the glaze is very very thick. You would need to heat it up for sure and also thin it out too.

Does this dry to a crisp or does it stay sticky after sufficient cooling time?

If you have a good batch, it drys well and looks professional. If you get a off batch and it is a bit thinner than usual it drips and is very messy but still tastes good.

How long does this keep ?

This product has a shelf life of 270 days from the date of manufacture. Each bucket will be stamped with an 8 digit code in julian date format. The 5th digit indicates the year the product was produced and the last 3 digits indicates the day of the year. The expiration date can be calculated by adding 270 days to the date of manufacture.
