For Security and Control
Excellent device to make your home a smarter home. Must create an account with Chamberlain MyQ to fully use all the features. The setup was very easy; the device connected to the router/modem is small which will not take up space. What I like about this product in order of preference:1) Garage now has a timer that can be programmed to close at 1, 5 or 10-minute timer. If you frequently leave your garage door open overnight because you forget to close it, this product will be a life save. I once had visitors over that came at 10 pm and with all the commotion with greeting and hugs I unintentionally forgot to close the garage. The following morning when I woke up and went outside, I notice that the garage had been left opened all night. Luckily nothing was stolen. This leads to my second feature of this product.2) I can remotely observe on my smartphone if the garage door is open or close. In addition to this, I can control it to open with my smartphone. Once I was away from my home for a few days and I had a big packaged delivered to my home. I called my neighbor about the delivery and when I was notified that it was delivered, I remotely opened the garage door with my smartphone so my neighbor can place my package inside the garage. After he placed it inside, with my smartphone I closed my garage door.3) For safety reasons, the garage beeps when it is about to close. This is good if someone is near the garage and it is being closed remotely or with the timer.4) Additional devices can be connected to control them remotely, such as a light control switch or electrical plug. The only negative issue I have with this product is the hold button in the control panel; it prevents the timer from closing the garage door. This is necessary if you will be working in your garage and you need the door to be left open for a long period of time than the timer (such as mowing your lawn). I notice that after a couple of minutes the hold button get deactivated by itself and the garage door closes itself. Once while mowing, the hold button in the panel did not keep the door open; luckily my wife home at that time if not I would have been left lock outside my house. But I found a way to solve it this issue, I just use any object (such as a trash can or box) to block the garage door safely sensor. Blocking the sensor prevents the garage door from closing.I highly recommend this product for security and ability to control a garage remotely.

This is so awesome!
So my box arrives today and I'm like a kid on Christmas morning. I literally drop everything I'm doing and go install these things. The mere thought that I could upgrade my 15-year-old doors for so little money, and not need professional installation, was very exciting for me. And really, it still is. This is likely the best $100 I've ever spent.Installation is a snap. Plug the controller into your ethernet, create an account and add the controller to it. Download the app and get busy installing the switches on the wall. Just two wires and you're in business. There is a slight delay after install, maybe two minutes, before you can add the switch to the app, but after that you're in business opening your old-school doors via the Internet with your smartphone.I love this product, it works great, and despite the minor criticism I'm about to offer, it's still worth every bit of 5-stars to me.So what could be better? Well, wifi for one. I was surprised to see that it requires an ethernet connection. But on a positive note, the range of the controller is excellent. I have my controller about as far away as I possibly could from my switches and it still works perfectly. So not a big deal at all. Also, I wonder if the controller is even necessary. If you put wifi in the switches you could likely eliminate the controller altogether. But these really aren't problems for me at all. So no deductions of stars for me on these issues.Other reviewers have commented on inefficiency of the motion sensors to control the lights. I'm not sure where I stand on that issue. They aren't working great for me, but it's likely a matter of location. So again, no deduction of stars. But I have turned them off. And, for me, they just aren't required anyway. It's a cool idea, but so not important to me.Another reviewer commented on the loud "beeping" that occurs on auto-close and closing via the app. I see his point, but I don't feel that it's all that loud. And it's a safety feature that I do like. Sure, it's a little bit annoying if you are standing there listening to it, but the idea is that you aren't there when these sounds are being made. And not a lot of people are accustomed to doors shutting automatically, and unattended.I do think the timing on the auto-close is a bit limited and short-sighted. I would have liked to see something in the 3-minute range as an option. I believe 1-minute to be a bit short, and the 5 & 10-minute options entirely too long. And this is a feature that I love. It's a fantastic bonus on top of a product that I'm very happy with. It's not by any means perfect, but it's easy, affordable, and it works perfectly. I'm very happy with my purchase despite the room for improvement.
