Great Value Monitors
For the money, I can't imagine anyone getting more at this price range. The speakers have a balanced sound and just sound great. I don't have any doubts in my mixes when I work on these.I've seen confusion in reviews as to whether a subwoofer is needed or not. It's my assumption based on what was stated they might be first time purchasers. The bass is really punchy and clear with detail, but you'll need to supplement the low end with bass you feel with -- a subwoofer. You can still hear sounds down to the 40-50hz range, but to feel the sub-bass in your chest you'll need a subwoofer to even out the experience. If I crank up the volume on the JBL's the bass can get close to my subwoofer. However, accuracy is important here, not volume. I'm on a budget so I was able to cheat and use a Y cable to route the the L/R audio from my Focusrite to my old subwoofer. In the future I'll be looking to upgrade and drop the splitter.Reviewers mentioned a hissing sound in the speakers, in my experience I never noticed it over the slight hum of my computer unless I position my ears less than 12" from the speaker. The speakers are without a doubt sufficiently loud. I had to set the volume at 12 o'clock on the speakers, and the same position with my Focusrite. The sound filled the room entirely. One thing to keep in mind these are rear-port firing speakers. So you'll need to treat your room properly for these to work at their best for you. If that's not an immediate option you can use the Trim feature to overcome the bass bleeding through. This seems to be the issue I saw with inexperienced reviewers who were critical of clarity. One aspect that seems to get overlooked is stereo imaging. When I listen to Micket Hart - Udu Chant you can visualize the entire sound stage. The song also makes great use of panning effects which these JBL's do a good job projecting. You can almost follow the sound heard in the intro with your eyes.If you're either a first time studio monitor buyer, or looking to own some in this price range you wont be disappointed in how these perform. Excellent speakers!I'd recommend all future purchasers and current owners to check out the AudioCheck website. They have really great ways to test your speakers!

JBL monitor speakers 308 MK2
These speakers are amazing, 112 watts for each speaker, they are nice and loud and also sound crisp 👌 the bass is great 👍 the treble is perfect👍 I use them as monitor speakers for my DJ equipment, they're connected right to my mixer with TRS cables and that sound is amazing 👏 Some people are saying theirs a hum noise, not for me. The sound is very clean and crisp. My only regret is that I wish I bought these sooner.

Sounds great.
Nice sound, decent bass. Still bought a subwoofer to supplement. Using the setup for my digital piano, and as studio monitors. sounds amazing. Also use it as a sound system for my PC. Great all around, no complaints. Only thing Im not really fond of is the plastic covering. Its the type of plastic that gets micro scratches incredibly easily, even when wiping with a simple soft cloth. You need to use a very fine micro fiber cloth to clean. And they are dust magnets, due to the static cling. However, not a major issue overall. Just not how I would have designed these things.

Very disappointed.
I bought the pair of 8" JBL 308p mkii speakers. Plugged them in and nothing happened. No sound! Tried XLR and 1/4 input cable and nothing! Adjust the input sensitivity on the back and nothing! Adjust the Boundary EQ, and nothing! Adjust HF Trim and nothing! Adjust multiple settings tried a mixing board and nothing. Was a Waste of my time! This was my first disappointment interaction with JBL products. This caused a delay with my customer who was furious with me. Smh.

Nice speakers, but have a hissing noise.
Overall, this is a nice speaker. It sounds as good as many other JBL speakers, if not better. The sound is clear and has a fairly good low end. In my opinion, it's worth the money. However, the reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because of the hissing noise. When there's no audio playing, it will have a hissing noise no matter if audio cables plugged in or not. I've read this issue from other reviewers and it's still a little louder than I expected. When the room is quiet, it's audible within 1 ~ 2 meter distance. I just turn off the speakers when I don't use them. If you wanna listen to them in the near field, this is something you need to consider.

Great investment
These JBL speakers look and sound great! I noticed though, that in order to get the thumping bass sound from these, you'll need to have the backs of both speakers close to the wall. And a subwoofer would definitely enhance the bass as well.

Not Loud at all!
These Monitors Do not produce the Studio Sound that is Needed to Mix or even Mix Properly, The speakers sound so Low as far as volume, the bass is not punchy and doesn't give the reference needed. Not Studio worthy, my Maudio Bx8 sounded way better and lower than this monitors. And the refund process is Horrible, so don't buy

Full accurate sound.
These speakers sound amazing! The soundstage is incredibly clear. It sounds like things are moving around the room. The only speakers I’ve ever heard that can reproduce sound anything like this are the kali audio speakers (also amazing). The lows are sharp, full and punchy when they are suppose to be, and they can rumble as if there were a Sub when there isn’t. The mids and highs are super accurate. Most speakers you can hear the left and right, you know exactly where the sound is coming from. With these I can clearly hear sounds coming from places I know there’s no speakers and it’s amazing. I have them running from an smsl su-8 dac with optical cable from the tv. It’s simple, but it sounds like a full surround sound system. Super happy with my purchase.
