Bought it for 7 years old birthday. The boy is fascinated with bugs so it was perfect. He was so excited that he didn’t even use water as in the instructions, just went straight in to break it mode and got all the hidden insects in seconds/minutes.He then went on examining them.Great thing for an insect enthusiasts.

Nice excavation play. Nice idea of digging for insects - make sure you wet the plaster first as recommended. It is not a long term and reusable game as once digged out that's it. You can keep the amber bugs in a soft pouch and keep them that way. But good for something different to play with.

I brought this for my Autistic grandson. He loves it.

Not really a dig set, I opened the package and the clay just crumbled so there was nothing to dig. If I wanted a set of amber insects I would have just got that, the digging was supposed to be part of the item but that isn't the case with this as you don't even need to open the tools for it to fall apart.

Grandson had good fun with this and now has the insects to keep

The fossils come in a block of plaster which I found a tad hard to break using the tools in the kitI poured some water on the block and let it soak into the plaster which made it easier to breakI would defiantly suggest wearing the safety glasses as well as putting something under the plaster block as this gets messyIt would have been nice if all the amber pieces could be made into a necklace there is not enough cord to make 6 you can keep them in the bag
