In the Audiophile world, words such as "Holographic soundstage", "Punchy and natural sounding" and "Highly Resolving" are often used. All that and much more can be said about this masterclass of audio engineering. The unit is beautifully made with top quality components and plenty of connection options including being a Roon end point. I can detect no digital high frequency "glare" that can often plague DACs and Streamers in general especially when using SABRE chipped DACS (This unit has 4 of them) that are sometimes put in that "Harsh" category. Not so with this machine which is a natural progression from the highly regarded X26.The OLED display is excellent and straightforward menus in the UI get the job done simply and effectively leaving the listener to get on with the job of listening, which is what it's all about right?All I can tell you is if you are serious about high quality audio and you have a balanced system (for me that's means similar priced front ends, amp and speakers/headphones then you must give the X30 a listen.
