Very nice display for the price, iPhone 16 compatible
Great picture. Great product for the price. It works as a secondary display for a computer, of course.I’m pleasantly surprised to see it also works well as a secondary display for an iPhone 16 pro, connected via usb c. I power the monitor via a usbc charger or power bank, plugged into one of the monitor’s two usbc ports. With the iPhone plugged into the second port, the monitor also provides charging power to the iPhone.I’m primarily using the monitor as a portable digital “sheet music” display. It’s big enough that I can read two pages side by side. The picture is also great for movies and other content.Pros:1) nice picture in general (inky blacks, bright whites, hooray for OLED)2) high resolution3) vesa mounting holes4) small and light (for being a 16” display)5) comes with two usb c cables, mini hdmi to hdmi cable, power brick, and decent coverDownsides/minor quibbles:1) When using HDR, the monitor doesn’t allow for any picture adjustments. This means you can’t turn down peak brightness or saturation. Viewing it in HDR mode in a dark room will melt my eyeballs. The workaround for this is to disable HDR on the monitor and device, at which point the SDR picture can be adjusted. This isn’t a huge deal, but it would be nice if I could just turn adjust the picture while in HDR mode.2) the built in speakers are really bad (But i didn’t expect them to be good)3) there *appears* to be some color cast and uneven saturation across the color gamut. It looks good for normal usage, but *might* not be a great choice for photo editing or similar tasks. But considering the price, these downsides are pretty minor. Still a great deal.iPhone/iPad compatibility note:I can confirm that this works well with an iPhone 16 pro, connected via usb-c. It’ll even display content at the native monitor resolution when using apps that support secondary displays. I’ve seen a lot of varying (and mostly negative) reports on compatibility between iPhones and portable monitors, but it appears that most of those issues are with Apple devices that used lightning connectors. With the iPhone 15, apple switched from lightning usb-c. I suspect that the monitor will work with any usb-c native Apple device… and for all I know it’s compatible with lightning devices (plus a lightning to hdmi adapter), but I have not tested that situation.

Perfect second screen for watching movies and photo editing!
The Newsoul 16 inch OLED external monitor comes with everything needed to connect a variety of devices including computers, tablets, video game systems and phones. As a web designer/photographer who needs maximum screen real estate this is an ideal second monitor for home or the office. It only takes a single usb-c connection to power and extend my laptop screen. However, I always have the option to use the HDMI port as long as the monitor is plugged in separately. When viewing for the first time I immediately noticed how much more productive I am running Photoshop or other photo editing software from a separate, full-sized screen. The colors are extremely vibrant with lots of contrast. Photos seem to pop off the screen. As an added bonus, the OLED screen pairs perfectly with an OLED iPhone. I had thought about getting a tablet for watching movies away from home. Instead, I can view them on larger 16 inch screen eliminating the need for a tablet and separate data plan. This setup also works for reading articles, displaying e-books or playing games from a phone. It was very comfortable to sit back with my guitar and use the screen to display electronic music books. I am not a gamer but the 120 Hz refresh rate would come in handy when connected to a device with the same specs such as a newer Macbook Pro or Nintendo Switch.I owned an older, non-LED version of this monitor and this is much thinner and lighter. The new monitor offers slightly more screen real estate (going from 15.6 to 16 inches) but takes up a lot less space in my computer bag. I can probably fit both the laptop and this screen in the same slot. Customer service has been excellent as they have responded within a day or less. I look forward to being more productive and not straining my eyes when making photo edits or watching movies from my phone. This monitor is definitely a keeper!

Fantastic screen and excellent service
The Newsoul 3k OLED portable monitor is an excellent display and product.Screen Quality:A prime example of OLED technology. Saturated colors and perfect blacks. Completely blows any IPS display out of the water. This screen gets plenty bright, although, the glossy coating means you should keep this indoor.Use this monitor in SDR. HDR content is best suited for displays that can reach brightness far in excess of the advertised 500 nits. If you are worried about color performance, you cannot beat infinite contrast and saturation of OLED. Stick with SDR.The display is very sharp with a PPI (pixels per inch) of 212 — higher than a 27" 4K monitor (163 PPI) and just shy of the MacBook Air's 224 PPI.As with most portable monitors, VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) or FreeSync is not supported. To avoid screen tearing, lock your framerate to a supported refresh rate (60Hz, 100Hz, or 120Hz).Onto Connectivity and Usage:No need to mess with settings, just plug in the video USB-C and power cable. Colors look great out of the box but if you want to adjust the RGB or sharpness, that is available in OSD.Mini-HDMI port works fine, but doesn’t offer enough bandwidth for 120Hz at native resolution. To unlock the monitor’s full resolution and refresh, (2880x1800 at 120Hz), use a USB-C cable. Also, connect a power cable.Value for money:A great deal at 250 dollars. The 4k OLED portable monitors go for more than 400 dollars or even as high as 700 dollars. The 4k OLED portable monitors also are only 60 Hz, similar to the 1080p ones. So you get both a high resolution and higher refresh for less money with this product. My TakeawayInitially, I experienced a screen issue, but Newsoul’s customer support resolved it quickly and professionally. That, combined with the excellent product quality, made this a positive experience.
