APS 6.5in Side Armor 304 Stainless Steel Running Boards Compatible with Dodge Ram 1500 2009-2018 Quad Cab (Nerf Bars Side Steps Side Bars)

I love these! I installed them on my 2018 Ram 1500 Tradesman about a week ago. Package contained all required parts and hardware, which I separated and laid out prior to installing. I also watched YouTube videos to prepare myself. These were more helpful than the printed instructions IMO, but I would also suggest reading the instructions. . The install took me around 1.5 hours per side on the street in front of my house, by myself. Assistance to sort and hand me parts and tools would have cut this down significantly, and a lift would be awesome; I had neither available. All mounting hardware is heavy-duty and fit exactly as designed.The night before installation, I covered all metal-to-metal mating surfaces with high quality duct tape and put neoprene washers under all the metal washers, mainly for rust prevention and certainly not required.The boards look great! At 6" they give a healthy step surface for entering the cab, but they're still within the basic perimeter of the vehicle. They stick out far enough to prevent door dings by adjacent passenger cars. The satin black powder coat finish matches the matte black trim of my truck fairly well. They almost look like something the dealer would've installed as original equipment, but with a slightly bad-ass flair. They are very effective as a step to enter the truck, especially for shorter individuals. They are sturdy and of good build quality.Caveats: 1. The boards themselves are made of aluminum and should thusly not be used as rock sliders. 2. I've only had them on for less than a week, so I have no long-term performance data (does the paint stay on, does the hardware come loose, etc.). I'm pretty confident however; these things are definitely not flimsy or poorly finished. 3. I don't know how grippy the step surface is when wet. There is no rubber nor non-skid insert or component, just the overall powder coat surface. I suspect it will be fine but it might wear faster on the frequent step surfaces.Overall these are a great value and I would definitely recommend them to others, at least for the Ram pickup.

These were great for my ram 1500! Very sturdy, look great and they are lighter than my old steps. Weight savings are always good.Install was easy though having a 2nd person handy would make leveling the steps a little easier.Also, if you don’t have access to a garage, be careful installing these on a hot day unless you have lots of shade to work in.Positive note, whatever these are coated in is great! It’s a Non slip, material that’s smooth to the touch with an even finish. It’s been raining over the past few days and my foot hasn’t slipped once(common with my previous steps)

Number one the steps work well at what they are designed for as the steps make it quite easy to get into the cab of the truck, these steps are very wide which is the main reason I ordered this model. These step are noticeably wider than any of the steps my friends and family and even strangers have on their trucks. On the plus side they look good, they are lightweight and corrosion resistant because they are aluminum, and the price was fair when compared to other steps. The only downside so far is the installation instructions were not that great and it took longer than I expected to install plus since they stick out so far I am hesitant to run it through one of the automated car washes because it looks like the brushes may snag on them. Overall a good product for the price, definitely makes it easier to get into the truck.

I armour running board are an excellent product. I was concerned that they would stick out too far. After mounting them on the my truck I was pleasantly surprised that they do not. In my opinion they offer perfect balance in appearance (not too rugged or two plain) and usefulness. The aluminum construction makes them easy to work with when mounting. It took me two hours with simple hand tools by myself.

Product seems well built and supports the stated weight. Installation was super easy and everything lined up perfectly. Keep in mind these are every bit of 6.5" wide may not be the look you want. If you are in the market for well built, good looking and strong step rails these are definitely worth a look.

Excellent quality easy to install sturdy and look good too

Look terrible not long after buying when all of the steel mounting hardware rust and this is on a 18 with under 35k miles glad to have a nice truck that looks terrible because rusty running boards.... Time for trash and replace.Great looking running boards for 2018 ram 1500 but, buyer beware the instructions are horrible! And if you over tighten like I did the aluminum welds crack and look bad.

The rail quality and finish were good. Like the (4) points of connection on each bracket and were simple to install on my RAM 2014 1500 pickup. Would recommend and buy again.
