Don't know as I use this food for my SALT WATER fish. If it's any help, my Emperor Angelfish is 7 inches long and he eats it...

yes, these are sinking pellets. They are small in size so these for small to med size fish. My fish love them while they pass by fish food bought at Walmart or PetSmart.
