Solid and sturdy with all the features
This is an excellent head that goes well with my Manfrotto X55 tripod. It handles my D750 with the 24-70 lens admirably. I guess it can take a lot more. It’s quite sturdy, smooth, easy to use and feels rock solid.

An Awesome Piece of Workmanship
Simply put its awesome.Holds my Sony a7 riv with a Sony 200-600 mm lens without any sag.Very fluid movements and an excellent quick release leaver.

Excellent Tripod and a Monopod Solution
Solidly Built, little heavy though. Excellent Choice for a Monopod or a Tripod.Love Manfrotto products. This head is easy to use and allows for a range of motion for the camera. The plate and cradle mechanism is amazing for quickly transitioning from tripod to handheld camera use. Would highly recommend!

Sturdy and Smooth
This is one of the top end ball head model from Manfrotto. It is made in Italy like most of the Manfrotto Products. It supports 200PL Quick Release Plate. This mainly for photography , but independent panning helps in video work also. It is good investment, if your are serious about photography. I have a Manfrotto Tripod ( 055XPROB) and Ball head (486RC2) that I have been using for past 10years, till now they have not given me any trouble.Pros -Lightweight.10kg Load Capacity.Ball and Pan have independent locking mechanism.Ball friction can be adjusted.Butter Smooth Panning .ConsThe Quick Release plate locking mechanism is flimsy. I like the old RC2 Rapid Connect Adapter than this one.
