Works well for deer and rabbits
I have applied this to what I refer as my "salad bar plants" in my garden that deer and rabbits have enjoyed previously at my expense. So far, after a month and half since application, I have not had any animal damage to my hosta and hydrangea plants. I have seen a few damaged leaves on the hosta plants, indicating they may have sampled and decided they did not like what they were eating. I have a good number of plants in my yard and have selectively used the this product on the plants that have been victimized in the past. I use a half-inch rod to probe a hole down to the root structure of each plant and insert a tablet or two, depending on plants size (following instructions that are on container) in the hole and then cover the hole back up. To be completely honest, this is one of three strategies or lines of defense I have incorporated this year. (yes, I have a bad deer problem) I am using the "scarecrow" motion detector sprinkler head at the deer trail point of entry into the garden and I am also using Deer Scram around the periphery of the whole garden. The combination seems to have provided an excellent line of defense. What I like particularly about the pellets, is they keep working rain or shine, whereas the Deer Scram must be reapplied after heavy or prolonged rains. The pellets give me some peace-of-mind following rain that the garden will not be devoured between applications of the Deer Scram.

I love it - Deer hate it
I live in a heavily wooded community that is blessed?? to have a lot of deer families. This has been a hard year for wildlife -- our heavy rainfalls have kept plants from pollinating, so no acorns, berries, etc. What a great year to try the Repellex tablets! I have beautiful hostas, hydrangeas, day lilies, and other "deer salad" plants in my garden. When the plants started coming up in the spring, I started treating with Repellex. The plants that were treated were left along -- the plants that I neglected were munched. This is a great product. I think it should probably be re-applied mid season, especially on the larger shrubs. This was my second bottle so I will be ready for spring.

Systemic pellet did not work
Reviews seem to be for multiple products so to clarify, this is for the tablets that are supposed to make your plants t taste like peppers. I ordered them and a hydrangea on the same day as a test to see if the deer in my front yard would leave it alone. I placed 6 pellets in the 2 gallon pot and watered it for 2 weeks. Then I planted it in my front yard and added 4 more pellets. I did place a cage around the hydrangea for protection while it got established. I have been unable to remove the cage because the deer are eating what they can get to. I personally tasted a leaf and there is zero taste or burn. The plant has been in the ground for 3 months and the deer are 0% deterred from eating it. I was so hopeful, but remain ultimately disappointed.

Repellex 20003, gret product lossely quality from Amazon
The product really does work and keeps the deer from eating what ever I use it on for about a year as claimed. But the problem I have with buying it thru Amazon is that for two years I have purchased 150 count bottles only to have over 50% of the pellets arrive as meal and the rest of the pellets soft and fragile. I have purchased the product locally and they are hard and intact and very stout. So what gives? have they been abused in storage? Am I receiving second quality products? I will not be ordering this product via Amazon again. Also this not the first review with this problem. SO SOME ONE NEEDS TO GET THERE ACT TOGETHER.

Crumbly
I don't know if the shipping process is particularly harsh or what, but I probably had only 2/3 of the actual tablets that were supposed to be in the jar. The rest was crumbs. I did use the crumbs, and there might have been a difference in the deer eating the new growth on my berry plants. I was not concerned about the taste passing into the berries because these were new plants, and I was not planning to harvest any berries for a couple of years.

A True Deer-Stopper
Once I used this to protect my hosta, the deer population has stopped chewing up plants in my ornamental gardens. Plan to use it on other vulnerable plants next spring.
