Palm Sugar Pure 16 Oz

This is pure flavored sugar cane and it can be used as sugar with the palm taste, they’re hard but you can break them with strength and put em in coffee or whatever needs sugar.. because that’s what these are… pure sugar flavored like palm.

It works well in the Asisan recipes I have been trying lately. I have been using brown sugar because I did not have access to Palm sugar. I have even tried cane sugar in my recipes but sometimes the molasses impart an earthy flavor that is not wanted. Using Palm sugar is the way to go and not a lot is necessary when cooking for two, so the cost is OK also.The product is easy to chunk into smaller pieces and dissolves quickly when cooking so I did not encounter any issues with this product, I like the taste is not overly sweet like brown sugar and it is not over powering like cane sugar (molasses).I suggest anyone venturing into cooking other cuisines should try this one. The order came quick, product was intact and the taste is great.

Break pods in half and place in a small bowl and sprinkle with 1 TB of water. I used 4 (8oz). Microwave in several bursts until soft - melted. Use the back of a fork to mash and check for consistency. It tastes milder than brown sugar. For the recipe I made, you then immediately stir in 3/4 cup fish sauce as the base for cut up 1" chicken thigh pieces. Have not used it as a sugar for other applications yet. Have since found "palm" sugar in a local Japanese Filippino store. Cheaper but not sure if authentic....
