Beautiful Morels
The media could not be loaded. Rewind back to the early 2000's, I was at a high end French restaurant in downtown LA. My husband and I were experiencing an array of new flavors and ingredients in the most beautiful of presentations. I can barely remember the meal, but something unique on my plate has never left my memory. I asked the server what these delectable vegetables were and he replied in a heavy accent, "morels." I wasn't sure if I had understood him correctly. Mushrooms? I hate mushrooms. Or I thought I hated them, until I tried these weird looking treasures. Here we are decades later. I was so excited to try these morels. I have hesitated to purchase them since I didn't want to taint that indelible and perfect recollection of my dining adventure at that French restaurant. I finally worked up the courage to give them a shot in my own kitchen. While I love to cook and bake, I wouldn't ever call myself a skilled chef by any means. I soaked these in warm water after rinsing them several times. Once softened, I sautéed them in a cast iron skillet and seasoned them before giving them a taste. Sadly, my excitement ended there. They tasted awful, like dirty, salty sponges. Womp womp...Would I blame the morels? Never! These mushrooms were beautiful, plump and had that recognizable lacy exterior. They are a work of art on their own. I will cast all of the fault on my lack of skill. And to be fair, the French dish was laden with an ultra-decadent butter and cream sauce. Maybe I have always hated mushrooms. Maybe I just love cream and butter.Get the mushrooms. Make something amazing with them. Or add these to a fabulous gift basket for the foodie/chef in your life.

nice surprise
Took me a while to get to using these, but that helped me see how well they store. Made for a wonderful addition to a creamy sauce on pork loin. I don't cook such dishes often, so having the ingredients on hand when I do means trying for things that can be stored. No one noticed how these got started and that's a win.

Decent for the price, lacks flavor
Tried them and felt they lacked any genuine flavor of fresh morels. for the price, i honestly wouldn't consider them but if you've never tried morels, this could be a good substitute.

Delicious
These are good quality mushrooms, with a really nice flavor. I rehydrated them and sautéed them with butter and a little broth. Absolutely delicious!

Great!
I live in Oregon, where morels grow. I even go out mushroom hunting every spring and fall, and usually bring in quite a few nice mushrooms, of all kinds...... except.... even after 20+ years crawling around the woods, I've never been able to find even one of these little beauties! Arrrrrghh! These morels are a treat! Finally I can have morels in the dishes I wanted them in, without having to pay insane high prices....or coming home empty handed and having to cook without them. I love that they're dried. as they'll keep for a long time, unlike fresh ones. And, they reconstitute really easily with just a little water and in a short time, they're all fluffed back up and ready to use. And at a decent price, too! Five stars!

Fantastic for sauces!
I can never find fresh morels near me.It seems crazy because I live in an area where I feel like it should be easy to. But I can’t even buy them around me.I had assumed dried morels would be terrible just because it sounds that way. They’re not! They are amazing in sauces! You just rehydrate ( I did chicken stock ) and cook them up in butter. Then I add to Alfredo and it makes a really big difference. The packaging and sizes of these seemed like a good value for cost. I’m no expert but I think these are great and will absolutely keep using them
