SUPER FAST! A good rural internet solution, or mobile. An incredible upgrade over cell phone tether.
This hotspot is easy to set up and easy to use. It is a far better alternative than cell phone tethering. In rural areas with weak cell signal 2 bars will stream high-def video in a more urban zones with 4 bar signal the download speed was 50 megabytes Plus, 20 GB plus upload. It is a bit spendy, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone who needed a rural internet solution or a mobile internet solution-it's working great for us two months after purchase. I hope this helps.

Supports T-Mobile and AT&T!
I bought this because I needed something a bit more advanced for road trips that wasn’t as large as AT&T’s current high end hotspot. I figured a Verizon hotspot that was originally sold before they received “permission” to lock their devices was a good option. It’s missing instructions on how to create a VPN connection so for those who want to know, you just drag and drop the OVPN configuration file from your VPN provider into the file box and type your VPN username and password. Then save settings. You might need to do it multiple times to get the file to actually save. It’s bugged. In my city I can get 120Mbps download on Verizon and T-Mobile, but I only get 60-100Mbps on AT&T. I’m in a market that supports 4x4 MIMO, 256QAM, and LAA by Verizon and T-Mobile. I am unsure what AT&T offers as they obfuscate their market technologies behind funky names and misleading indicators. You are able to change the APN, but you can NOT change the PDP type (IPv4 or IPv4/IPv6) which impacts your speed depending on your carrier. To circumvent this I find that enabling IPv6 on the LAN tab works to enable IPv6 on the WWAN (cellular) side of this. The size is compact enough to fit into your front pocket, but you will want to avoid that. It gets warm under heavy use in your pocket. It also gets warm while charging. If you can avoid using it while charging I would recommend it. If not, make sure you have it charging on a table or other open surface. There are two small circle plugs near the USB-C port. When you remove them you’ll find two TS-9 connectors for external antenna. I’m not convinced they’re needed in a city, but when in the country or rural areas they help tremendously. To close:The APN for T-Mobile auto-populates, but if it doesn’t use fast.t-mobile.com.The APN for AT&T is “broadband” without the quotes.

I Should Have Known . . . Schooled!
The title says no sim card included and I should have just gone with that. But if you read the comments from the seller he says that there is a sim card included as it is a new unit. I believed him and so I got snookered, just a little. Otherwise, it is a new unit and does have all of the stuff it is supposed to have. But I will be telling you to learn from me and to not necessarily believe what the seller writes in the questions and answers section. I will now need to go buy a sim card. Thanks dude!

Worthless
Have tried to use this for the last 24 hours, it constantly drops either the WiFi or cell connection. A check on Google shows this is a very common problem. Sending back.

Would not work
I just bought it and I couldn't even get it to fully activate. It kept on saying "no signal , no data found" (even though my area has good signal and I signed up for the unlimited prepaid plan). I took it to Verizon and they told me that this is a good device however these models have a major problem with getting it activated. They told me to return this model so I can get my money back and get another model instead because no matter what they tried it would not activate even called Verizon hotspot and couldn't get it activated.

Screen Unusable
Returned the first unit because I was unable to navigate screens. Second unit was only slightly better. Touchscreen very intermittent and not useable to even set up unit. Returned it for refund.

I'm unimpressed
I got this thing to replace my 7730L because I got tired of having to perpetually turn off and on the wifi and/or power cycle the thing. But to my dismay, that's an issue with this 8800L too; brand new, right out of the box!As an engineer, it's dumbfounding how anyone designing a product like this would call this a finished product unless they just skipped the debugging phase or just didn't care.Well, at least that's one benefit of buying it here on Amazon - you can return it and reject such mediocrity. But hey, if you don't already have a 7730L, I suppose this is better than nothing (and in general, Verizon data coverage outshines the rest by far).

SIM card not included and additional cost.
Package indicates that there is a sim card included as it is a new unit (and includes a sim number on the package.) However Verizon found there was no sim card in the unit when they opened the unit for the time.
