Great read
This is the second time I've read this and I still could not put it down. I want to go back to Lundinor to explore. Also cannot describe how much this captured me and made me root for the various characters, try to solve the mysteries and breathe sighs of relief, shock, devastation and more at various points throughout. On to the next part!

Highly entertaining fantasy adventure book for children
A lovely fantasy story that is reminiscent of Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter - escapism to a world of magic and adventure. Plays on the common tropes of young fantasy, of wanting to be something special, someone with more power, but does it with a twist of Charlie and the Chocolate Factors weirdness. The magical properties of unusual objects keeps you wanting to read more if only to see what the next bizarre thing will be!Highly recommended for 8-12, or older readers who don't mind reading something written for younger audiences.

One of the best books ever!
This book is one of the best books ever! I might say that a lot but in this review I truly mean it! Every day, I would be reading and finding it hard not to stop. I recommend this book for eight years olds to twelve year olds. Once you get started on this book you cannot stop reading it. It is like you are being addicted to it. Seriously, this book is great. I hope everyone else who reads it enjoys it as much as I do.

Love this book!
Amazing! Magical! It is a book that bends your imagination. I look at everyday objects differently now! What an amazing story. I am going to say its as good as Harry Potter!

Summer read / Class book
This popped up on my Facebook, I work in a primary schools as a TA and thought it sounded like a good class book, I thoroughly enjoyed the story and the characters. I think it appeals to both girls and boys and can't wait for the next visit to Ludinor.

Fun and riveting book
Really enjoyable tale about the everyday objects and how they aren't magic but really are. Sort of a Harry potter/Charlie bone feel to it but unique enough to stand on its own. Cannot wait for the second one

An amazing adventure.....
This is a great read for children and adults alike! I read this within a week and my 8 year old brother can't wait to get to bed and hear the next chapter in Ivy and Seb's underground world every evening....! Definitely worth a read for anyone who loves Harry Potter and wants to get lost in a new adventure....

Hobsmatch and Uncommoners make for an enjoyable read
Enjoyable series. Not what I expected, but am enjoying it. The “Uncommoners” and their Hobsmatch attire are an interesting group, and I love the uncommon items they use, especially Scratch, the talking bicycle bell!! And I laughed out loud when Ivy, Seb, and Valian were at the tea party in book 2, and the chairs began to move about and Ivy’s chair did a “quickstep with a garden bench” at one point, and then moved on; and at another point, ivy’s chair “reared back on its hind legs and began to tango off toward another table.”There is just enough fun and adventure included. I’m just beginning the third installment, and already the adventure has begun.

Suspenseful
Very suspenseful, and a little scary at times. My son and I are enjoying reading the bed at night, wondering what will happen next, and thinking about who Ivy and Seb should trust.
