5 LARGE Skeins 2 lb Himalaya Recycled Sari Silk Yarn Hippie Color Handspun

I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this, as I had only seen similar yarns in the store.When I placed my order, I was a little worried because it had an estimated arrival of 10 to 25 days from purchase, but I took a chance. To my surprise, it arrived faster than my other prime orders I had submitted on the same day!This yarn looks as though it would be rough (even though it is made of silk), but when I opened my package and felt it, I fell in love! So soft and silky! Feels amazing!The description is completely accurate that yes, this yarn will fray and it is uneven in color, but that is the nature of this. Do not order it if you are looking for a perfect, uniform yarn... this is not for you.I am still giving this 5 stars because the colors I recieved are even more beautiful and varied than in the picture, and the price is a steal compared to smaller lots of similar yarn. I AM disappointed though that in the description it says "5 LARGE skeins"- yes, there are 5, but they are not large by any means. I know most specialty yarn does not come in big amounts, but I would have expected them to be a little bigger- also, the picture shows hanks, not skeins, and I did in fact receive hanks, and not skeins. It is kind of misleading when the description says "2 LBS of yarn"- this is a very heavy yarn, so 2 LBS of this is not nearly the same as 2 LBS of anything else.Not my favorite thing to roll balls, but again, for the price, quality and beauty, I will deal with it. I would recommend and order this again for sure!

I love working with this yarn. The different weights throughout and varigations make it so much fun to work with. However, if you don't ball it up first, you will regret it. And balling it up can take a LOT of time, because the way they rolled it up left it severely prone to tangles. I did have one of my skeins break in the middle (a huge frustration) because it simply thinned out too much, but I'm sure I'll find something to do with the smaller balls. If you can find this already balled, it would probably be worth it.

I cannot express how wonderful this yarn is...the consistency of colour and strand width was phenomenal and the price half or less what I would expect to pay for such a soft, smooth, unkinked fibre. After winding these hanks on my swift, I'm pleased to further announce there was very little fly-off waste fibre, and none of the threads broke or disintegrated upon being spun, which is unusual in my experience with recycled silk. Very happy with this purchase and will DEFINITELY be back for more in the future. Great product, out-of-this-world pricing, fast shipment, and appropriate packaging all make me one very satisfied customer. Thanks so much!

Just as the other reviewer said: it is of irregular width, may shed, hard to match the skeins even with each other so plan your work out accordingly. That really is a good thing. Crocheted a hood that looks fabulous, feels wonderful as a fabric, and has just the right amount of fuzz. Hides mistakes relatively well and is pretty easy to fix big blunders by pulling on both ends of the stitch. Just wind it before you start a project, as it likes to grab itself and knot otherwise. Might get more for booties.
